I would make Europe play "The Final Countdown" TMLO-style, down to the last mangled note and missed beat. Just for the hell of it.

Not a bad course of action, that! (pops)

Me, I would want Deep Sunshine to play "We Built This City." They could really do that song some justice.

It also appears that I didn't even read the headline.

As opposed to covers of songs they DID write...? You on crack, smitty? How's that working out for you?

Disturbed playing Wake Me Up (Before You Go-Go), I'd say Korn doing it, but they'd probably pull it off real well, like they did Word Up.

Bathia_Mapes [TotalFark] 2008-03-01 01:02:25 AM
A good cover of Pipeline.

However, it would be hard to beat the original version by The Chantays, or the cover versions by The Ventures or Dick Dale.

I'd make Nickelback do Creed.

I've been wanting to hear Anthrax cover something of Rush, one of their more aggressive songs, like One Little Victory or Far Cry.

I saw that while watching TV with my parents, back in 9th grade. I was stoned at the time, and they couldn't figure out what I found so funny about it.

Here's another gem.

actually a really cool cover...

Bindyree 2008-03-01 03:59:14 AM
In all seriousness, I think Keane could manage to redo 'Crying' and 'Shannon'. ... in additional seriousness, if Amy Winehouse survives to record again, she could probably cover a considerable amount of Cher's early solo works.

I seem to recall seeing William Shatner covering 'I Wanna Sex You Up' somewhere with bongos and a xylophone, or some good shiat like that. He said he performed that song that way because he fell off of a horse.

I'd make:

Hanna Montana do "Fark the (or possibly, 'tha') Police" and "One"
System of a Down do "My Boyfriend's Back"
Luciano Pavoratti do that Souja Boy song about Supermaning that ho

Bathia_Mapes: A good cover of Pipeline.

Anthrax does a good cover. I couldn't find a clip of them doing it, but here's a clip of some kid playing the guitar part. The drums etc, are Anthrax. It's on their album Attacks of the Killer Bs.

As for the subbys request, how about Slayer singing Smoke on the Water or Metallica singing Respect.

That truly was one of the worst pop songs ever and, some might say, one of the worst pop bands.

I thought they did...

blick: i wanna see ozzy and black sabbath do hanson's mmm-bop

Ozzy's box set a couple years back had some weird stuff, like him singing with Miss Piggy, and covers like "Stayin' Alive". It's weird, even for Ozzy, especially for Ozzy.

Kilmore_Trout: I really wish Johnny Cash would have covered NIN, "Hurt". That would have been cool. Too late now I guess.

Yeah, that's sad, but there's no way he could sing that and make it feel like anything...nope...

I've heard so many weird covers that nothing surprises me anymore.
