Allmuisic gave her 4 stars... but I suspect you'd be better checking out The Divine Comedy, the band. Terribly underrated and not widely known, but incredible.

Her voice isn't that great and her acting talent is barely there although occasionally she can pull it off by a hair. All of that would be fine. It seems to be getting Jessica Alba pretty far. But the main difference between Scarlett Johansson and Jessica Alba is that Jessica Alba has got the sense to appear in movies that guys might watch and Scarlett hasn't got two brain cells to rub together or by now she'd have figured out that chick flicks aren't exactly working to her main audience.

I came in here to say pretty much the same thing. For all I know her covers will be awesome, but I wouldn't bet on it. Besides, much of what Waits work is the delivery. Take that away and you're left with Rod Stewart.

If she's not doing "The Earth Died Screaming" or "Hoist That Rag", she can go fark herself. And yes, I'll be right there with the video camera.

I'm still reserving judgement till I hear it. If she takes a very off-beat direction with the musical accompaniment it could be good. I don't have any hopes, though.

Scarlett Johansson is also ridiculously hawt, so I don't really care. And not fake hot, either.

Glad to see she enjoys the music of one of the best songwriters/experimental musicians of our time. Aren't we due for a new Waits album soon or something? Orphans is going to be a tough act for Tom to follow up on, considering it was perfect. But we'll see.
