It looks like Huckabee is finding out first hand that many evangelical preachers who try to influence politics would rather simply be politicians, and don't really care so much for their religion.

But he probably knew that already, being a baptist preacher turned governor.

Actually, Huckabee seems reasonably sincere to me, as far as politicians go. The problem is that I'm not in favor of many of the things about which he is sincere.

Yeah, it's funny that Obama has been taking shiat for the fact that Farrakhan is endorsing him, but just last week John McCain said he was proud and honored to have the backing of this lunatic.

Double standard much?

None of you get it! We need Huckabee to strengthen Christianity in the Federal government and Constitution, so as to greater withstand the Muslim onslaught on our Christian freedoms and way of life here in this great Christian nation! People don't realize just how deadly their threat is, and not just from abroad, either.

A prominent American Muslim cleric wrote:

Muslims have an obligation, a mandate, a commission, a holy responsibility to reclaim the land for Allah - to have dominion in the civil structures, just as in every other aspect of life and godliness.

But it is dominion that we are after. Not just a voice.

It is dominion we are after. Not just influence.

It is dominion we are after. Not just equal time.

It is dominion we are after.

World conquest
[emphasis his!]. That's what Allah has commissioned us to accomplish. We must win the world with the power of the Five Pillars. And we must never settle for anything less.

If Allah is indeed Lord, as the Q'ran says, and if our commission is to bring the land into subjection to His Lordship, as the Q'ran says, then all our activities, all our Jihads, all our preaching, all our craftsmanship, all our stewardship, and all our political action will aim at nothing short of that sacred purpose.

Thus, Muslim politics has as its primary intent the conquest of the land - of men, families, institutions, bureaucracies, courts, and governments for the Kingdom of Allah. It is to reinstitute the authority of Allah's Word as supreme over all judgments, over all legislation, over all declarations, constitutions, and confederations. True Muslim political action seeks to rein the passions of men and curb the pattern of digression under Allah's rule.
Does this not frighten you? Do you not see why this must be stopped?

Does anyone here doubt that the above is an actual quote from a prominent American Muslim cleric? Well, it isn't. I lied about who it was from. I also altered the quote somewhat.

Where you see "Allah," substitute "God" or "Jesus" or "Jesus Christ." Where you see "Jihad," substitute "witnessing." Where you see "Q'ran," substitute "Bible." Where you see "Five Pillars," substitue "Gospel." And finally, as you may have guessed, where you see "Muslim," substitue "Christian."

The actual quote:
"Christians have an obligation, a mandate, a commission, a holy responsibility to reclaim the land for Jesus Christ - to have dominion in the civil structures, just as in every other aspect of life and godliness.

"But it is dominion that we are after. Not just a voice.

"It is dominion we are after. Not just influence.

"It is dominion we are after. Not just equal time.

"It is dominion we are after.

"World conquest. That's what Christ has commissioned us to accomplish. We must win the world with the power of the Gospel. And we must never settle for anything less.

"If Jesus Christ is indeed Lord, as the Bible says, and if our commission is to bring the land into subjection to His Lordship, as the Bible says, then all our activities, all our witnessing, all our preaching, all our craftsmanship, all our stewardship, and all our political action will aim at nothing short of that sacred purpose.

You can read it for yourself, for free, here. (Note that due to the large introductory section with differing page numbers, the online version page numbers with that quote are 81 & 82, not 50 & 51.)

Of course, it's not like this guy has anything to do with Gov. Mike Huckabee or anything.
