Does anyone like Bloomberg? Because he makes the short list of people that I'm bewildered when people express love or support for.

//Bush is on the list too you rabid jackals

/Huckabee?

mrexcess [TotalFark] 2008-02-28 11:01:28 PM
Obama can't pick Bloomberg for a VP. Doesn't work for a number of reasons, chief among them being that Bloomberg doesn't bring in a lot of votes for Obama: he should be able to pick up New York without a problem in the general election, and Bloomberg isn't terribly popular outside of New York.

Saiga410 2008-02-28 11:02:07 PM
Edsel: Hmm, Bloomberg for VP, I like it but there's zero foreign policy experience good ideas on that ticket.

Somewhat douchey, but the man is an effective executive and administrator. Not saying he'd be a great veep; he's on my list (also on it: Dodd, Webb, Biden, Sebelius, Richardson), but I think there'd be better choices. Could easily see him as Sec. Treasury, though that perhaps isn't as high-profile as Bloomberg would like.

Saiga410: Nader? or Huckabee?

Exactly. I can't imagine he'd endorse Obama and I can't imagine Obama would accept it; Obama would lose 2/3 of his supporters.

robsul82 [TotalFark] 2008-02-28 11:12:20 PM
Obama/Bloomberg - the first presidential ticket ever to have both members readily admitting to past drug usage and that they liked it at the time.

/so they've got that

DoctorWorm21045 2008-02-28 11:23:20 PM
On a tangent, it seems the Paulians haven't quit yet. There's a poll on the page asking "Who will win the Republican nomination?" Mathematically, it is impossible for anyone but McCain to win, but over 50% of the voters still seem to think Paul will take it. I think this just sums up his supporters rather nicely.

/Best pshop I've seen all week: Ron Paul Revolution blimp as the Hindenburg.

Nah, even though he's been stumping for Hillary, I'm willing to bet that Wesley Clark will be Obama OR Clinton's choice for VP.

That's how you outflank McCain on national security, foreign policy experience, and the war.

Full of win.

Wesley Clark's been Clinton's homey through the entire campaign. More likely names are Lugar, Feinstein, Dodd, or Biden.

I_Approve_Of_This_Message: Wesley Clark's been Clinton's homey through the entire campaign.

See? That's actually what I think makes it even more likely. It'd be a gesture to Clinton supporters to come on board fitting with Obama's unifying message after he wins the candidacy.

The reason I don't think it's be one of the guys you mentioned is because they're powerful committee chairs in Congress, and any of them leaving to be VP could perhaps weaken the Democratic Congress.

But this is all speculation, anyway.

robsul82 [TotalFark] 2008-02-29 12:57:19 AM
Picking Biden's even more unlikely after Hillary's scorched earth policy went after that dumbass plagiarism shiat with Obama. Leaves the ticket wide open to "wow, BOTH of them steal shiat!"

The only other Democrat I have supported regularly. The possible conflict-of-interest issue from Federal contracts going to her husband need to be investigated a little more thoroughly, though. I doubt either candidate would want a pending semi-scandal hanging on a VP nominee.

Furthermore, she has pledged her superdelegate vote to Clinton (and rightly so, as California did go to Clinton).

Exactly. What, Clark is going to wait four-to-eight years for his shot? Or is he going to be the Clinton delegate in the Oval Office?
