Montrose not impressed.

And with such gems as "American Girls" and "Big Yellow Taxi," I'm sure Madonna's album will suck just as hard as the Counting Crows album did.

/Holiday in Spain's alright...the rest of that album, DIAF.

It's good for seniors to stay active.

Suitable name for a castrating femme fatale.

FTFA: Hard Candy is also the name of an ultra-violent flick starring Ellen Page.

According to Wikipedia, Hard Candy is also:

Hard Candy (cosmetics) an American cosmetics company
Hard Candy: A Book of Stories, a collection of short stories by Tennessee Williams
Hard Candy, a novel by Andrew Vachss in The Burke series
Hard Candy (band), a 1990s band featuring former Bucks Fizz vocalist Shelley Preston

So FAIL?

Madonna has all the imagination and talent of a fork.

Apparently she is also incapable of Googling anything.

Don't forget Dolly Parton's Hard Candy Christmas.

Hey, she was 20 when she made that movie, so no "seat right over there" for me.

I like the Counting Crows.

I just wanted to provide a dissenting opinion into what is more than likely going to turn into a total anti-Crowsfest.

Ah, Counting Crows.

What band better captured the pure essence of every bad coffeehouse poet-poseur in history? What other group so ruthlessly and efficiently deconstructed American roots music, removing from it any trace of originality or substance? Who more than Adam Duritz deserves a king-size cockpunch for crying onstage while delivering subpar eight-grade lyrics about being the guy who never gets the girl, all while farking Jennifer Aniston?

God, I hate them. They even make the Gin Blossons look exciting by comparison.

Sybarite: Hey, she was 20 when she made that movie, so no "seat right over there" for me.

considering it came out in 2005...and was therefore probably made in 2004...and she was born in Feb. 1987...it's close

Legal in my country... though in the case of this particular film, not something to brag about really!

I'm sure Submitter could have come up with a better joke had he gone the movie route. Counting Crows suck Cartman's balls, and I'm sure the reason I so hate Adam Duritz is because he was banging Jennifer Aniston at the the height of teenage crush on her.

At first look, you might think so. But, consider:

> Music (2000), also a name of a 311 album (1993), and a very unoriginal title at that

> True Blue (1986), also the name of several much older jazz albums

> Like a Prayer (1989), evidently attempting to rip off her own Like a Virgin (1984)

hypnotoad1 2008-02-28 03:32:33 PM
I don't get all the hate for the Crows really. I think they're a pretty good band who is great in concert. And Anna Begins is one of my favorite songs ever. YMMV.

SAvoodoo 2008-02-28 03:59:12 PM
hypnotoad1: great in concert

as long as adam isn't wasted. i saw them a few times and the concerts were good until i saw him and he was drunk as hell. forgot lyrics, falling all over the place, leaving stage to get more to drink and then coming back five min later with the booze. decided never to see them again after that show, such a waste of money

I thought "Up All Night" was the best thing they had done to date.

Counting Crows is a great example of a band whose radio hits are all terrible but have some decent deep tracks. The music and lyrics are usually solid - but Adam's whiny biatch singing style can be hard to tolerate.

New Madonna music?

At least the gays will have a new cd to buy. Madonna hasn't released a single that mattered to the rest of the world since the 80's.

That would be the 'Like a Prayer' rekkid.

You're right. I work in a CD store, get kicks etc, and of all the people who bought the last Madonna album, 75% were either gay or highly effeminate men.

AAEA is one of my favorite albums. never bought any of the followups, but I still dig the band.
