Good thing she saved them. She would have been facing a murder charge instead of an arson charge.

The younger brother must be PISSED he isn't getting the credit. I know I would be. Older siblings suck, even when they rescue you.

Parks said the brother and sister would be honored, "as an example of what we all can be doing."

We can all be running around inside burning houses? Just not on Tuesdays, okay?

Cue the "Hero tag?! Meh. She just did what any other 12 year-old girl would have done." group.

Give it to her 9-year-old brother too for going back in. Both hardcore.

6 KIDS?

Where's that vagina isn't a clown car picture?

And my little brother essentially saved 4/5's of my family when our house caught on fire 2 years ago. Did he take loads of credit and hold it over his two older brothers? Nope. Do said older brothers still give him shiat about little things? You bet your ass we do.

/still grateful

Reminds me of when my older sister pulled me out of a pool when I wrongly decided I could swim.

Nice story.

Unfortunately, anything a crotchfruit does is considered newsworthy.

Too bad both kids are saddled with those awful super-black names though.

"This was a blessed day."

I mean other than the fact we have no house anymore.

Good for both kids. I award them a Wikipedia Barnstar for Tireless Contribution! upload.wikimedia.org

OK: she just acted in her own evolutionary interest by protecting siblings who share some of her DNA. Not heroic.

At first glance you seem to understand evolutionary theory, but then again, maybe not as well as it might first seem. After all, you did not point out that she saved more than two. (If it has been only two, or just one, then it is NOT an evolutionarily sound strategy)

But still, good job for thinking in the right direction.
