I remember when I rode around Powelton Village in Philly one night on the hood of a frat brother's Camaro, holding onto the windshield wipers. I think the Sixers had won something. I was drunk and didn't care. It wuz cool.

I'm a little surprised it happened in Haverstraw and not Newburgh, except in Newburgh the two would have been shooting at each other through the whole blessed event.

So wait a second. The fleeing, scared girlfriend gets a felony. When the pursuing crazy sob gets a misdemeanor? That is farked up.

I came into rail against this guy about passing up the opportunity to ditch his girl and have another go at manchild. But I decided to have a gander at TFA.

All I can say after that is, "Wow."

/Not really that sad though...
//He only got misdemeanor charges for that, and she got felony? That's farked. I would have thought punching a woman in the head repeatedly would be more than a misdemeanor. It's not her fault he jumped on the car.

Why would you punch your girlfriend in the face while she's driving a car that you are desperately trying to hang on to? More importantly, why would you hit a girl at all unless you were a stupid little dicked bastard, and that caused the fight in the first place?

SpeelChuck [TotalFark] 2008-02-24 01:12:54 PM
Maybe because he just used his fist and she used the car as a weapon? It sucks no matter how you parse it, though.

I hope she gets an attorney who will be able to get everything put into perspective before it gets to court, so by the time it does, the court hears what really happened.

Have you been to Haverstraw? There's no surprise here.

/or has it changed for the better in the past decade? I've been in CA since 1999

What is, she just supposed to stop and allow him to break in through the window to assault and possibly inflict grevious bodily harm or death to her?

Except that the airbag does not stay inflated. Whoops.

no she should have driven off and run into multiple cars and try to kill innocent people. obviously she chose the safest thing to do for all the children in the world

Do you enjoy contributing to malicious gender-based double standards? Or are your pants on too tight? Either way, give your head a shake and jam in the fact that violence is not automatically worse solely based on the gender of the victim.

Violence has bullies and victims, abusers and abusees, and those roles are what defines right and wrong, not genitalia. How else do you explain domestic violence rates in lesbian relationships being on par with domestic violence in two-gay-male relationships?

Asshat.
