Exactly!!! These companies got what they deserved. Thorough background checks would have prevented any losses.

Irony? Really?

was that a joke or did you not RTFA? they knew about his past, he gave lectures on it. but you would think they might have audited him a little more closely.

FTA: Webne, 48, did not return calls to his house Friday. He and his wife, Tonya, and four daughters live in Ottawa Hills, a well-to-do village surrounded on all sides by Toledo.

Come out with your hands up!!!! You are surrounded by Toledo!!

I'm just surprised it wasn't in Florida.

Allow me to present you with my resume.

I know I'm new to this occupation but it'll work out.

Trust me.

Sadly, this is hardly ironic. When people are in a line of work that allows them access to highly confidential information and systems, and requires them to think of ways to defeat them, the temptation is too high for some people. That, and sometimes the people who are best at thinking like crooks happen to be crooks.

This is ironic.
This is not ironic.

It happens everyday with government sponsorship. SOX laws were brought to be because of corporate shenanigans with the assistance of the big accountant companies. Now the business practices are being audited... by the big accounting companies.

Yes it's ironic because the expectation is that a person who makes their living preventing something would turn around and cause it.

/it's not surprising because of basic human nature tending toward greed and stupidity.

Shakespeare's Monkey 2008-02-24 11:41:44 AM
Yup, I screwed that up. The expectation is that the person who makes their living preventing something would NOT cause it. It would seem to be ironic to have a fireman who is caught setting fires. And, when it comes to money, the left hand always has to watch what the right hand is doing, always.

He and his wife, Tonya, and four daughters live in Ottawa Hills...

THAT'S why he keeps doing it. Living with five women and all of their demanding, holy hell. With the stress of high-maintenance and living standards, it's amazing he's not holding up banks. They're probably encouraging him to do this embezzlement stuff.

If they hire him knowing of his prior crimes, they deserve to lose the money. I hope he blew it all in bad investments, it would teach them a lesson.
