But she added, "My husband apologized for slavery. My husband mended, so as to avoid ending, affirmative action. My husband had in his White House, his Cabinet, his administration, many of you who I see here in either full-time or advisory positions."

Your husband ain't running for office lady, YOU are! It's getting so that i'm watching Hillary's speeches in hopes that THIS broadcast will be the one where she finally snaps and tries to eat the cameraman.

Well at least she's admitting where she gets her "35 years of experience". She stole it from Bill.

Pretty much sums it up.

I know it isn't very Clintonian to recognize defeat and bow out gracefully, but you should consider it, Hil'. Every angle you try makes you look worse and Obama better. The trend is clear...accept it.

My quick read of TFA indicated she was answering a question about Bill's doings during her campaign, so in this case I can't fault her for talking about him.

Ug. Too farking true. Bill made her look like a fool on the international stage and she's only stuck by him so she might stand on his shoulders to get the presidency. If she had ditched him as she should have, sure she would have had to have clawed her way back up from the bottom, but Obama seems to have managed it, and he gets more credit for the effort.

Sometimes its hard to be a woman
Giving all your love to just one man
You'll have bad times
And he'll have good times
Doing things that you don't understand
But if you love him you'll forgive him
Even though he's hard to understand
And if you love him
Oh be proud of him
'Cause after all he's just a man
Stand by your man
Give him two arms to cling to
And something warm to come to
When nights are cold and lonely
Stand by your man
And tell the world you love him
Keep giving all the love you can
Stand by your man
Stand by your man
And show the world you love him
Keep giving all the love you can
Stand by your man

She shoves feminism back a couple of decades.

FTFA: "If anyone was offended by anything that was said, whether it was meant or not, whether it was misinterpreted or not, then obviously I regret that," Clinton responded.

Those are the worst kinds of apologies. It's not really an admission of contrition. It's like IF YOU were offended, then I'm sorry. Not: Sorry I offended you.

I have to agree. I would respect these sorts so much more if they would just suck it up and say "There were people who were offended, and I am truly sorry. It won't happen again." Not just politicians, but televangelists and news broadcasters (yes, I mean Bill O'Reilly) and pretty much anyone else who sticks their foot in their mouth in spectacular fashion.

Huffington Post has a new video link that she apparently did today where she mocks the crap outa him, she looks like shes gone completely over the edge. Who the hell is managing her campaign that would let it get to this point. If this keeps up then at the debate on tuesday I expect her to walk out onto the stage....poop her pants...and start flingin frash poop at Obama and the moderators on live television while Bill cheers her on.

Its bad enough that she is ruining her career in politics but shes also destryong whats left of the Democratic party in the process. This is just farking disgusting.

Exact same for me. My wife and I watched the debate, and afterwards we were both saying how it was kind of nice that she seemed to realize the end was near and decided to go out with some class and dignity. I sort of figured she'd just play out the next two weeks rather calmly, give Obama his night for victory on March 4th, then pull out on the 5th.

What you're seeing here is the result of the split in her campaign. There's the side that realizes it's more or less over and want her to take the high road here on out, win or lose. I'm guessing they won that argument before the debate resulting in what you and I saw that night.

But, you heard the press afterwards. Most people thought her behavior meant she was quitting and that even she realized the end was near. Probably not the desired effect. So, the Scorched Earth side of the campaign (led by dickhead Mark Penn) got to weigh in...resulting in what you see here. I think she'll stick with this until the bitter, bitter end.

I only hope as her campaign crashes and she continues to embarrass herself she doesn't put out enough sound bites against Obama that the McCain camp will end up using in commercials before November.

I've always feared she'd take the approach that if she can't be the Democratic president, then nobody will be. It seems she's that's exactly what she's doing.

Not even, and you know it. The typical Hillary Hater is one who reluctantly supports McCain, and they sound like knuckle-dragging mysogynist Bush lovers. It's all we can do to not be associated with them by hemming and hawing and using the stupid nicknames they've adopted for her.

What's even more damning is the relatively slim margin of victory she had even in the states she won. Only one victory with over 60 percent of the vote: Arkansas. Obama's routinely winning by that margin or more. Plus you have to wonder how many of those early voters simply cast their vote for her simply on name recognition.

If Super Tuesday had happened even one week later than it did, she'd have been toast then and there. He would have flipped New Mexico, and even if he hadn't won any of the other states, he would have cut even more into her margins of victory, further widening the delegate gap we see today.

As it is, all she's managed to do is delay things by one month. Come the morning of March 5th, her campaign will effectively be over even though she probably won't admit it.

She'll win Ohio by less than 5-6 points at best. She'll lose Texas by that same margin or more. She'll certainly lose Vermont, and while there's no recent polling data for Rhode Island, the word coming out of there indicates that 8 point lead she held 3 weeks ago is going to be long gone by March 4th.

1-3 with at best a split of the day's delegates will be the last straw for most people, including the Super Delegates.

SomeoneDumb 2008-02-24 08:16:43 PM
Shrugging Atlas: ...If Super Tuesday had happened even one week later than it did, she'd have been toast then and there...

I blame early voting. Calif, I'm convinced, voted for Obama on Super Tuesday, but the numbers couldn't overcome all those who voted weeks later based on name recognition and the other things.
