OK. Where do we keep the special "I'm sorry" intercontinental missile?

Ahmadinejad is a nonexistent power in Iran. The president's office in Iran has no viable power over anything beyond showing up at ceremonies, give a sense of democracy to the people and keep up with the charade. I’m tired of all the attention Ahmadinejads been getting. The guy has no control over foreign policies or the army in Iran. Western media and the west as whole should pay more attention to what Khamenei says. Even if it’s not as entertaining as Ahmadinejad, he’s the one who makes all the decisions at the end of the day.

Take your accurate understanding of Iranian political processes and get the hell out of here.

I came here for an anti-Yabba Dabba Doo thread, and I'm gonna get an anti-Yabba Dabba Doo thread.

This.

I feel bad for the Iranians. Can you imagine what it must be like to wake up every morning worried about your asshat president said the day before to make your nation even more of an international pariah?

Yea, it does suck. But Bush is the Commander In Chief. This is more like waking up every morning worried about what Sean Hannity has to say.

/Yes I said it, Ahmadinejad has as much influence over Iran as Sean Hannity does in US.

I have to say that I agree with Ahmawhatsizface. I'll take it a step further and say that the U.S. owes the whole world an apology.

He wants compensation, does he? Cruise missiles run about $1-$2 million each. If he's thinking in the range of a billion dollars or so we ought to be able to handle that out of inventory.

The USA owes the Iranian people an apology for Operation Ajax.

We were interferring in the Persian Gulf region and making a mess of things for 50 years before George W. Bush's latest misadventure.

Operation Ajax was a "setback for democratic government" in Iran.

Flammenwerfer 2008-02-24 08:17:53 AM
I support apologizing for everything the United States has done that other people don't like:

(1) If we can get it all out of the way at once in one blanket apology; and

(2) If we can deliver the entire apology in a flippant, sarcastic tone.

So why should we bomb Iran again?

You know, even though we've found no evidence that Iran's making any nuclear bombs, comments like yours convince me that our media is doing a great job influencing simple-minded Americans that we should fear those evil Iranians. I bet you were saying the same thing in October 2003, weren't you?

Bush doesn't owe the world an apology. He does owe me a couple trillion dollars though.

I'll accept payment in platinum please.

In the realm of international politics, heads of State (whether ceremonial or otherwise) often advocate very forcefully and aggressively for their specific regime.

We don't have that many cruise missiles built. Of course they could always do another Iran Contra scandel incident and sell them the cruise missiles for double the price and make a healthy profit.

Bleh, just send them what we have and charge a hefty shipping fee. Rocket fuel doesn't come cheap you know.

Of course blowing up the Middle East will most likely not fix that problem...

Want an apology?

thedarkshadow 2008-02-24 08:42:22 AM
The problem with most news stories?
We never get any details. All we ever get (for the most part) is a lot of guess work and gossip. I wonder what really happens at the higher levels. What kind of information governments are privy too that we never see.
Years later, they make a movie, or make a documentary for the history channel and fill in the details of the missing moments but for the years that we, the peons, pass through history. We haven't a clue what anybody really does, or how they posture.
Maybe Alamanwhatshisname is right. Maybe we're right. Who the fark really knows. I've come to realize that my life is really about accepting the fact that I have no real part in my country, or civilization. I'm just there.

starsrift 2008-02-24 08:43:56 AM
Bah. America won't be satisfied with the transparency of Iran's emerging nuclear technology until they have a man in every corridor of every university and nuclear facility in Iran.

And then America STILL won't be happy, because they will have "actionable intelligence" on "secret bases" (or shoe factories, it's hard to tell from that altitude) that are pursuing nuclear weapons.

scotty425 2008-02-24 08:44:47 AM
Wait, I know. We (the US) will apologize for sanctions when Ahmacrazyguy apologizes for taking US citizens hostage.

Lumoclear 2008-02-24 08:45:26 AM

I always find it amusing that most retard americans somehow find using even more excessive violence and killing a solid alternative to resolution. Everyone knows america doesn't apologize. Where america can't re-write history, it just chalks it up to terror, the fight for democracy or any of the other buzzwords retard americans continue to fall for. Slavery, invasions, sanctions, torture, using toxic chemical weapons on civilians, these things don't require meaningful consideration. You guys are right, glass parking lot is the way to go.

What do you mean "you guys", auslander? I'm an American citizen, and have no use for parking lots, glass or otherwise.

In fact, I believe cars should be few, fast and sleekly designed. And only driven by competent drivers. Everyone else can take the farking bus.

As for the "death from above" crowd, they can fark right off. I'm no pacifist however...had I been extant in 1930s Berlin I might have been in favor of preemptive de-Nazification if you know what I mean. "All that is required for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing", nicht wahr?
