Can someone explain to me why they don't just give the primarily Serbian north of Kosovo to the Serbs? I'm all for an independent Kosovo, but do what you have to to make it palatable.

Palatable to who? The Serbians? They have such a shiate image in the world right now that no one cares about what is palatable to them.

The Russians? Have you considered this whole exercise is simply an excuse for the US/UK/France/Germany to shake our collective dicks at Russia's impotence? That's international politics in a nutshell.

I am also in the 'fark Russia and Serbia' camp, but at least pretend to be reasonable.

Of course they're going to back Kosovo. The US military is there, standing by and waiting for shiat to hit the fan in the Balkans.

That, and we have to keep the Slovaks in czech

The "US military" isn't there, NATO is there. The US contingent is less than 10% of KFOR - Germany, Italy and France all have more troops on the spot.

Russia still sees "the West" as a generic unit for the most part. Though they are aware of Europe's increased independence and the waning of American influence in Europe, they are also just as aware that that comes with more European power and just as much if not more hostility to Russia's goals in Eastern Europe. So the net effect on their strategic thinking is nil.

Yeah yeah, I know. I just said all that as a set up to my "keep the slovaks in czech" joke.

Not Hilter, if that's what you're trying to say. Certainly Bush and Clinton. Also Helmut Kohl.

You know one fact about Germny, and it's wrong.

Because nationalism is the most retarded thing ever.
