That's nothing. How about a giant (and I do mean giant) map of Springfield?

If you have Family Guy: Blue Harvest, do a frame-by-frame on the Cantina scene during the pan. You'll see Bender, the Evil Monkey, Roger from American Dad, McGuirk from Home Movies, and I forget who else.

Seriously, and i say this with no regrets. fark The Simpsons and everthing it stands for. The humor is cliche/schtick, and it is pure garbage. I stopped liking it when i was 13 or so, because even then i felt this way. Flame on i can handle it

stiletto2 2008-02-23 05:27:41 PM
I saw a Q&A with Matt, and the rest of the Simpsons movie cast. Matt admitted to the audience that the geography of Springfield was fluid, and things were changed regularly, even the architecture of the Simpsons house! They used a non-existent window above the front door for an episode where Bart drops a water balloon on someone, etc. So, the map is subject to change

I watched the Simpsons movie, so I'm getting a big kick out of these replies...

That would be Homer dumping garbage on Flanders in "Trash of the Titans." And, yes, everyone knows that things move around in Springfield. It's no secret. Watch any two episodes and you'll probably see something. For another one in the house, notice the "door of mystery" which sometimes is a closet and sometimes leads down to the basement.

No, there are a great many people who have bad things to say about The Simpsons. It's not at all uncommon.

Oh wow, that would have been so utterly cool in 1992 or thereabouts.
Now, not so much.

Wow, your making me feel old. I was 17 when it started, of course it was on the Tracey Ullman show before that. It was great for the first five years or so. After that, not so much.

The show really started to slide, when Troy McClure's coke-head wife blew him away.

It's because most of their current writers grew up watching the show. It's like a fan of your favorite group producing their next album--the results will more than likely be crap.

/owns seasons 1-8 on DVD

Simpsons still makes me laugh to this day. I started watching it from season one. Yes some episodes stink but the re-runs still put me in stitches.

I have a hard time supporting this show since they erased Sideshow Raheem from Krusty the Klown's 29th Anniversary Show. Political Correct BS.

simpsonfan 2008-02-23 10:15:14 PM
The one thing about the show that annoys me is those inconsistencies. A store changes to another business, the window above the door, etc. A change can be made now and then. People remodel houses all the time. Businesses come and go. Just keep the change, don't put it back as it was, in the next episode, we notice these things.

they should've just let it die a graceful death years ago. the production team moved on to futurama and it was brilliant, on retrospect it'd probably turn to shiat had fox not canceled it after 4th season.

I think it's sadly hysterical that this loser thinks anyone cares about where his life (or lack thereof) 'intersects with pop culture'. Watching television is not being a part of culture, it's called being a spectator.

I too remember seeing it in there. It was called "A Split Second of Springfield"

It was in that same issue that it was revealed that the cash register said "NRA4EVER"
