I want to see a WWII version, with Mussolini Railroad, and The Treblinka Short Line.

I always like to play that game as the car bomber.

Don't phase me out, Hasbro.

Hasbro told The Associated Press that a mid-level employee decided on her own to take out "Israel" after pro-Palestinian groups and bloggers complained -- sparking even more protests from the other side.

The worst part? Hasbro owns most (if not all) of the intellectual property rights for D&D. Doesn't say much for their writers if they're so risk adverse as to drop a name from a board game over a few blogger comments.

Everyone always wants to be the race car bomber, no one wants to be the Jew.

I don't really have anything to say about the article, but it reminded me of the world map they have at the Tabasco factory lobby where Lebanon is missing.

Hasbro owns DnD, Magic: the Gathering, and a bunch of other games they acquired via mergers and acquisitions. Hasbro/Wizards of the Coast is an expert at taking games and farking them up.

Will somebody please think of the chidren! seriously though, what good is having capitals at all now? Hasbro had a chance to combine teaching geography along with the personal finance it already teaches. Last I checked, Israel still occupies Jerusalem. Maybe someday it will go back to the Muslims (or even the Christians if the fed gets its way), but right now its Jerusalem, Israel.

\get under yourself people!

Screw Israel. I want to buy Mars. Put a few hotels up there....

East Jerusalem, not the city itself. Jerusalem is the capital city of Israel.
In all its long history it has been the capital of one nation, Israel. Since a palestinian country never existed it kinda rules that one out by default.

Hasbro also has the Avalon Hill portfolio, IIRC.

...wouldn't be too shocked if somebody, in a bid to offend as many people as possible, wrote rules for 'Rails Across the Reich'.

KramericaWallet 2008-02-23 05:58:45 PM
The company is letting people vote on its Web site for which cities to include in the new game -- "Dublin, Ireland" for example. It recently removed "Israel" after "Jerusalem" and then eventually removed all of the country names.

Hey, Americans are so good at geography that it's completely unnecessary to include the country next to the city. Duh.

As a Canaanite whose family comes from Rushalimum, I'm wondering who gives a damn what those Johnny-come-lately Hebrews and Philistines think.
