Actual article: 3 superdelegates have changed from Clinton to Obama since the beginning of the campaigns.

hmm.

Really, 3 is not many.

I'm sure they will move in numbers if Hillary doesn't drop out on March 5th (which is my official prediction).

If Hillary decides to stay in the race, then life gets extremely interesting for the convention organizers. If Hillary does a few deals, pulls a few tricks at the convention and walks away with the nomination then I suspect that quite a few rank and file democrats will trash the convention floor and storm out of the party for good.

Only three have switched, but others have jumped off into "neutral" from Clinton.

Clinton's net since Super Tuesday is negative 2. Obama is something like +24

Hillary knows she's in trouble tho, especially after her latest attempt to smear Obama - that got an extremely negative response from the studio audience.

I think that if/when Hillary loses Texas and Ohio that she'll be under a LOT of pressure to drop out of the race.

I think either prospect would be interesting to see. Sure, I'd prefer to see Obama win, but if Clinton completes the destruction of the party in this manner it would ruin Bill's legacy and show them for who they are. Not to mention it would be the Democrats' crowning achievement of FAIL to lose the election after 8 years of Bush and a GOP nominee that most Republicans can't stand.

Oh yeah. I think she's going to lose Texas at least.

Y'know, I actually have good faith that she's going to take her lumps and run the Senate gracefully (or at least appearing graceful). She's not dumb, even if she is ambitious and cunning.

I'm prObama, but this is getting kinda ridiculous. I'm a Liter so I can't tell, but are they just greenlighting EVERY Obama non-story with a greatly exaggeratedartisticly licensed headline?

I'm half tempted to link the official Obama website with the headline that reads simply "Obama!" with the Cool tag to see if it goes green.

Yeah, but it will eat her up inside. She stayed married to Bill (I believe) only so that she could become President--she could have become an NY Senator either way.

I just don't know if her desire for power and control are greater than her intelligence. There is always the possiblity that Hillary will take the attitude of 'if I can't have it, nobody can' and destroy the party over the nomination process.

But you're right. It's far more likely that she'll back down, concede the race to Obama and spend the next 6 years building a coalition in the Senate.

It is absolutely disgraceful that Hillary hasn't conceded yet.

If Obama had lost 11 contests in a row by an average margin of 33 points, EVERYONE would be calling for him to quit and rightfully so.

Clinton is risking tearing the party apart when the voters have already spoken. It is over.

I think she'd make a good senator too, but I fear you're giving her too much credit. Her campaign has continually lowered the bar on what constitutes "success", and the media happily goes along for the ride.

I have a feeling Obama will win Texas and narrowly lose Ohio. Groundhog Hillary won't see her shadow, and declare that Pennsylvania is her next "must win" firewall, giving us six more weeks of prolonging the inevitable.

I don't think even Hillary is that arrogant and selfish tho. It's far more likely that she'll concede after losing Texas and then spend the rest of her term making life difficult for President Obama.

On March 5th you'll start to see a steady stream of heavy hitters (Gore, Edwards, etc) and superdelegates endorsing Obama and talking about the good of the party, etc.

Ya know, that is just stupid...your complaint is that the two parties need to be LESS representative of the people so that you can have a third party which will represent the people currently being represented by having less extreme candidates?

And you think this means it's broken? That's idiotic. This is the first election in my lifetime (Since Kennedy was in Office) where a lot of both sides say they can live with the probable nominee from the other side. And you think that this is a bad thing?

If she loses Ohio she is absolutely done.

However, she has already laid the groundwork to back out of her "Texas firewall" Just yesterday I saw an interview where she said she would only "like" to win texas, but htat it didn't matter because it was a red state.

sigh.

Wraithbane: representative of the people

You are missing the point. If Hillary wins by convention and not by popular vote, do you think that's the will of the people?

The point is that the will of the people is a crock and that party politics is a huge factor. Punish the Party.

Read a history book sometime.

Look, out system kind of sucks. But it sucks because it STRUCTURALLY is flawed. WE have a plurality system, which means 3rd parties can't exist. Plurality systems ALWAYS lead to two vaguely defined parties who speak in generalities to woo the most voters.

The only way a third party can succeed in America is if they make they effecatively BECOME the Democrats or the republicans. They have to make their message vague enough and centrist enough to win roughly have of the voters.

Do you really care about "third parties" so much that you just want the "Democratic" label to change to "Green" or the "republican" label to change to "Liberatrian"?
