(Washington Post) Obvious If Obama had been the one to lose the last ten primaries, the Clintons would be forcing him to answer tough questions about why he was continuing his hopeless struggle, but no one is asking Hillary these tough questions   (washingtonpost.com) divider line 112

If you say so.

This is the truth. The thing is that the media already (unfairly) did it to Hillary after Iowa and now they're afraid to do so again, when they actually should be.

WTF?

I'd rather have my prostate examined by Ed Asner's dick than have Hillary as my president, but with still so many delegates still out there and the count so close, I say let her stay in it.

TheConvincingSavant 2008-02-22 06:19:40 PM
She can't quit until Ohio and Texas are settled. It would be silly for her to do so, even knowing she's probably not going to do to well.

AmazingRuss 2008-02-22 06:19:56 PM
Delegates are meaningless. Sooner or later, she'll just rip out Obamas trachea with her teeth.

TheConvincingSavant 2008-02-22 06:24:53 PM
I will say that if she loses Ohio and Texas, it would benefit her to drop out sooner rather than later. If she ever plans on giving this another go, she won't want to look like a sore loser now.

I can't imagine her coming back. This is sweet history in the making. I don't mind a woman POTUS, but good on the Obamatron for destroying the Hillabeast. He deserves a Medal of Freedom for that and perhaps a spot on Mt Rushmore. This was an epic battle for all our souls.

Now..it's his turn..lol.

No, I think you're right. I doubt she'll run again as well.

I got a Republican friend of mine to caucus for Obama with me in WA with this argument. I successfully convinced him that if you're black or white or male or female, defeating Hillary is an American duty - especially if you're a Republican.

And I let him play my 360 while I took a nap.

Don't be too quick to make that statement, today I saw poll results giving her a narrow lead in Ohio and Texas (god forbid).

If her campaign is any sign of how she'll run the country as president, we're all doomed if she wins. She has spent over 100 million dollars on a failing campaign. Just this month alone she has spent 5 million dollars on advisors. In one race she spent 25 million dollars at the caucuses and came in third.

Although her campaign funds are approaching zero, Obama is rolling in the cash, which he has been spending effectively.

Bingo. There's a solid chance she wins Texas, and if that happens, I predict a convention showdown.

CravenMorehead 2008-02-22 07:21:44 PM
Well, Hillary didn't really lose them because they aren't really important. And you can't really lose if you say you aren't going to win ahead of time anyway, right?

She's an expert at lowering expectations. Who wouldn't want someone with that quality running our country?

OregonVet [TotalFark] 2008-02-22 07:29:02 PM
CravenMorehead: She's an expert at lowering expectations.

She went further than that. Her campaign said pretty much flyover country is meaninless except for TX and OH. The win in CA- you'd've thunk she won the nomination according to her staff. One glimmer. Not anymore.

She needs to win both Texas and Ohio by very convincing margins - around 65%. A near draw won't be enough - and that's just to stay in it.

Unlike Obama, Hillary has very little chance of winning any state that is typically a red state. Does anyone think that NY, CA, MA, etc are going to McCain?

Whether or not she wins the Dem primary in TX and OH, the party leaders know damn well that nominating her is essentially giving McCain the White House.

Obama's ground game is lightyears ahead of Clinton's too. When I went to my caucus in WA, when I went into the caucus building it felt like I just walked into Obama headquarters. There were staffers everywhere in coordinated uniforms taking questions and explaining to you how everything works, giving you free forms and free food, telling you what room to go to giving out Obama literature off the go. All the staffers had their shiat down. I didn't see a Clinton staffer in the entire building. It was mind-boggling. My precinct had 47 for Obama and 4 for Clinton, netting 3 delegates to Obama and 0 to Clinton.

RadioAaron 2008-02-22 10:26:57 PM
The fact remains that Clinton - in her obviously finite wisdom - decided to count on the long-established Clinton machine to make her inevitable.

Senator Obama, on the other hand, built a campaign from scratch. Completely from scratch. And has beat her at her only game.

There's a lot to be said for actively lowering expectations, as opposed to naturally having low expectations and exceeding them in ways no one could imagine.

i doubt they are Spaniards... Hispanic maybe.

as for the song, something like: "Long live Obama. He helps the workers. He brings health care and a new nation. He will establish an Islamic caliphate in North America and we must give him all the white women. He is our new good friend. Long live Obama. I like turtles."

Maybe his Wife typed that. Sounds kind of flowery for the Core.

So is "the youtube" the new "the Iraq", the new "series of tubes", or the new "the internets"?

To the candidate who is barack obama
This run I sing with the soul
Born humble and without pretension
He started on the streets of Chicago
Working to accomplish a vision
To protect the Working people
And bring us all together
In this great nation
Live Obama! (Live) Live Obama! (Live)
Families United, Secure and even
With a health plan
Live Obama! (Live) Live Obama! (Live)
A candidate fighting
For our nation

Nothing matters if you're from San Antonio
Nothing matters if you're from Corpus Christi
From Dallas or El Valle
From Houston or El Paso
What matters is that we vote for Obama
Because his fight is also our fight
And now that we have the urgency
For change, we all go together
With our great friend
Live Obama! (Live) Live Obama! (Live)
Families United, Secure and even
With a health plan
Live Obama! (Live) Live Obama! (Live)
A candidate fighting
for our nation

randomjsa: I'm glad the other half of the country is slowly coming to figure out what the rest of us knew about Bill and Hillary 15 years ago.

i see a lot of that... but here's the deal.

bill is bill. we knew who bill was then, we know who he is now. he's a slimy bastard that knows how to fight dirty and get what he wants. he also worked very well for the 90s, for varied reasons.

hillary is hillary. she's been manipulating bill's success and riding his coattails politically the entire time. when she held no public office, as first lady, she still tried to use his office to get stuff done. it's not news. we just didn't care when she didn't actually have any authority.

i think bill needs to stay out of the campaigning business indefinitely, and retire and let history wash away the snaky man that he is and leave a memory of a competent president. but just because who these people are doesn't suit them well for the present, it doesn't mean we ignorant then. we just didn't care.

i still think bill clinton is a smooth talker and i still admire his talent.

I wondered the same thing about the press on this issue, but not much. The mainstream media has subsisted on a steady diet of FAIL for the past fifteen to twenty years.

Obama doesn't seem to like to attack people. Sure, he criticizes, but from what I've seen he prefers to win people over the honest way.

Didn't see the translation, thanks for the heads up. And I'm aware of what they were trying to convey, which is why I clarified that it was a pretty literal translation, but it still sounded odd. Would've sounded better as "no importa" instead of "nada importa"
