Republican desperation is an ugly ugly thing. And we will see more and more of it as November draws closer.

smooshie [TotalFark] 2008-02-22 12:24:47 PM
I made it to the middle of the article before nearly throwing up.

Hint : Michelle and Obama's pastor aren't running for President
Hint 2.0 : Taking civil liberties away from us isn't for our own good, it's so the establishment stays that way.

willywanka 2008-02-22 12:29:08 PM
thanks, I'll pass on the newsmax daily dose of crap, but to make it easy, are there any surprises in the article, or is it the same old shiat?

FlashHarry [TotalFark] 2008-02-22 12:30:00 PM
let's see... provocative headline? check. newsmax? check. right-wing hate machine desperation? check.

1) Michelle Obama hates the US, therefore Obama does as well.
2) Obama's pastor was a racist, so is Obama.
3) Obama voted against the *gag*Protect America Act*gag*. Thus, in his perfect world, "bin Laden would have been given the same rights as Americans."

That's how far I got.

NuclearWinter 2008-02-22 12:33:25 PM
I don't see what everyone's getting all up in arms about. That was obviously a satire piece, and quite frankly, the best humor I've read all morning.

/What's that? NewsMax claims to be reputable?

Sorry, I got sidetracked by this delicious piece of lunacy in the margin:

I hope he does it. If so: buh-bye, McCain.

Ah, NewsMax. Is there anything you can't do to be even more insipid and stupid with every.single.story?

Pretty funny that if someone e-mailed any of those subject lines to me they'd probably get caught in my spam filters and flushed away. Newsmax, on the other hand, considers that "targetted marketing" to their customers. Tells you a lot about who NewsMax thinks their readers are.

Barack Obama is a hard core socialist. Not a surprise. Study his background.

Do you know who else was a hard core socialist?

GaryPDX [TotalFark] 2008-02-22 12:45:39 PM
I have to admit, some of Obama's friends make me queasy, like George Soros.

You know what, my wife thinks soy milk is awesome. She also thinks that tailgating is not a problem in the rain. My wife is anti-gun ownership. She thinks abortion is murder.

I don't share her views on those subjects. A little secret in marriages, well, any relationship, there's a phrase commonly used: agree to disagree and allow the other person their opinion without being judged negatively.

I'll judge a man or woman on his or her actions, thank you.

Analogy alert.

If someone tells his wife and children he loves them every day but beats them into unconsciousness on a daily basis, do the words mean anything?

GaryPDX: I call him the Magic Marxist.

every time you post that it just proves how very little you know about marxism.

unless obama has talked about nationalizing industries, redistribution of wealth and ownership or noted that all work is exploitation of the masses by the bourgoisie then he's nothing like a marxist. obama is further left than you'd vot for, yes...but that's not marxism.

/not even bothering with your unscary soros boogieman

Which, oddly enough, turned out to be right in that McCain story. But no, it's the LIBERAL MEDIA that's never right.

Yes, because when I want to know the truth about a Democratic candidate, I read a story in a neoconservative rag.

Let me guess...He's not an empty suit any more, he's a socialist who will spend almost as much as the Bush admin.

Off to read the article...

So let us recap all the various happenings currently in the campaign and see where things are leading:

*Obama gaining with a bullet in Texas and Ohio.
*Hillary must win both Texas and Ohio or her campaign is effectively over.
*Hillary in a speech in Texas ceded Ohio as inconsequential, and now has ceded Texas.
*In a debate demanded by Clinton to get her numbers up where she needed to win big, best-case-scenario played to a draw.
*Hillary is now pinning her hopes on two states that have already voted, have been awarded no delegates, and are showing no sign of being awarded those delegates.
*Hillary is in debt even after a $5 million loan, Obama turns the ground he walks on into money.
*Hillary generates around 5,000 supporters per rally, with lukewarm support. Obama fills stadiums to screaming rafters, limited only by the capacity of the building he books.
*McCain is having trouble getting rid of an opponent who has been mathematically eliminated, yet is still winning states in the area housing the Republican party base.
*McCain is dealing with a sex scandal involving a lobbyist; the details of which are still sketchy.
*McCain is being forced to limit his fundraising through public financing until September.
*Ralph Nader is about to run.

Except for the Nader thing, if your name isn't Barack, it all sounds bad.

This just in, Obama is surrounded by people of questionable intelligence and sanity when he's not at work. He must be some kind of American.

Really? Family members that say stupid and embarassing things and a protestant minister that's gone a bit off the deep end? I guess he's the candidate for the common man after all.

//Mud-slinging => backfire on this one

So this is media switching places with bloggers. There really will be a tipping point where most people get more accurate information from distributed sources as the corrupted corporate media approaches infinite bias.

Thanks, NewsMax.

I would hope that bin Laden would have the same rights as Americans. It shows that we're better than him and makes it sweeter to lock him up for all time, knowing that he got a fair trial.

God knows that if I hated America, the first thing I'D do is run for the presidency.
