I want to see Serj in concert so damn bad, but I refuse to buy any lame-arse Foo tickets to see him...

Video's gone from link, but if you search Youtube for "xmen wolverine cartoon" it's like the fifth or so result.

As an old comic geek, the trailer made me twitch. Too much lorelol. And they voiced Wolverine poorly. Also, from what I can tell, they're making him in to too much of a hero. Wolverine can be a hero, but it's not the driving force of his character. He's more of a standoffish, independent guy.

/I know, I know, it's just a cartoon

FTFA: We're guessing the Foo Fighters just blew their chances of being on the soundtrack to The Punisher 2.

I'm guessing that the Foo Fighters won't need to do the soundtrack to The Punisher 2.

Is subby's "Asinine" for the band or the cartoon's makers?

Nightmaretony 2008-02-22 04:32:47 AM
The cartoon makers. If you are going to pirate music, you do NOT stick it on your movie trailer!

It couldn't be for the Foo Fighters. Either Marvel or Subby are "Asinine."

For the record, the cartoon's makers. Can't exactly blame the Foo Fighters.

/Also considered using "Dumbass."

a4dzac, you've got to be kidding. That Serj guy is a huge douchebag. I had the misfortune of catching that horrible Groucho looking Jello Biafra wannabe in Worcester last Monday. He's a f-ing joke.

Foo Fighters, on the other hand, were fantastic. Always great live. Great bunch of guys, too.

I can't tell if this is more of an insult to Serj or Jello.

/Thinks they are both douches

never been a fan of the Foo Fighters, but I have to admit that the single "the pretenders" is pretty farking awesome. Not to mention the kick ass anti-police state video (new window)they made for it.

/on a side note Serj is a sellout
//why leave your band to sing the same music?

Self-titled and Colour & Shape were great. Now, they just sound like every other over-produced radio-ready band.

Why all the Foo hate? I was kind of awestruck the other day when I thought about how long the Foo Fighters have been around and are still putting together consistently good albums/songs. They put out their first album way back in '95. 13 years and still going. Pretty good when you think about all the "modern rock" acts that have come and gone in that same time frame.

I know it's cool to hate on the mainstream here, but c'mon. They have put out some great stuff over the years. You have to admit the the video for Everlong is pretty kick ass.

\this will fall on deaf ears

I look at it this way, it's the multiverse therefore acceptable. If you don't like the style then it's alright. You don't need to tune in. But it's out there, just like batman beyond.

Covering another artist's song and using the original recording in a movie trailer are two entirely different things.

US copyright law allows compulsory licensing of songs once they are published, provided the covering artist pays the proper royalties.

What i love about the Foo Fighters is, that when they aren't touring or recording, they fight foo. And they don't charge extra for that.

Nope, I love the Foo Fighters. From the self titled album to In Your Honor. But the new album is just terrible. A few good songs, but otherwise forgetable.

I don't know what it is, but I can love a band for a long time, but as soon as they start putting out album after album of complete and utter shyte, I can't listen to them anymore.
Even their early awesome stuff.

mikefinch 2008-02-22 12:54:56 PM
love foo fighters, but i wonder how x-men suddenly became hero's for the gay rights movement. X-men used to be cool.

For the record? if my next door neighbors suddenly develop the power to turn water into ice, or to control fire im going to try to kill them. That simple.

mikefinch 2008-02-22 12:57:23 PM
PS: the music fit the trailer like a glove fits on my foot. Ive seen mashups made by the deaf that came off better

Absolutely. In Your Honor is probably my favorite album so far this decade. I couldn't wait for the follow up, and with the exception of "The Pretender" and "But, Honestly", it is basically a turd. I listened to it alot in the hopes it would grow on me, but no luck. Still love Dave and the Foos, hope this effort was just an abberation.
