Tull, awesome as always. For those who don't know about this, there is a whole BBC concert, from 1977 by Tull on YouTube, the whole playlist is here, which is absolutely awesome

One of the single most unique rock bands of all time.

Articulate compositions and amazingly dense lyrics.

I came up with my Fark name while listening to Tull.

Awesome in concert, btw.

They're touring with Peter Frampton this summer. Ian Anderson's solo tour last year was awesome. I am definitely getting some lawn seats for this one.

It's going to be a killer summer for concerts. I already got tix for Radiohead and Mark Knopfler, I'm just waiting for Rush tix to go on sale and for Tull to announce a DC date.

Saw them for the first time in ages ("get off my lawn...") a while back at the Britt Festival in Ashland. Although throttled back a bit in terms of volume due to the festival having to placate biatchy neighbors, they were still flat out amazing.

Good vid. Tull was always one of my favorites. It was the only concert that I had front row seats. Back in '82.

Enjoy this link while you can. They tend to yank it:

I love Ian... he's one of the reasons I started playing the flute. Saw him the summer before last at Chastain in ATL - he puts on a great show. I wish I was older and could've caught him in the Jethro Tull era, but I did gank my parents' LPs often.

/will get off your lawn now =(

Headline put these lyrics in my head all day. Thanks subby

That is Bach and it rocks
It's a rock block of Bach
That he learned in the school
Called the school of hard knocks!

/Give it up for KG, give it up for me!

Elegy is a nice track, probably the best on that album. I really like most of the album, come to think of it, except for Dark Ages and Flying Dutchman.

Named my son Ian, after him, honest. Even got an autographed concert ticket stub, to Ian from Ian. Love it!

Thanks for totally killing my productivity!

It's sad to see him smoking at the beginning of that concert knowing throat cancer was heading his way.

I still remember when they beat out Metallica for the Grammy.

So all those fools who tell me I have no taste in music are WRONG?!

Sweet.

/Don't know much Tull but I know I like it.

Heavy minstrel rock. Got to love it.

In the 70's, we serious freaks all listened to Tull.

Thought they were done with until they released STEEL MONKEY in 1987. Whoa.

That guy at the beginning sounded like Eddie Izzard...

/Still loves Jethro Tull

It's amazing that while Tull is well known in the States, in continental Europe, Russia, South America and even India, they are mostly ignored in their home country.
