Hey peck, wanna go?

/I'm in.

Hopefully I will be better than Ballbreaker. Wouldn't be hard to do.

This album opens with the intense ringing of bells reminiscent of the opening of Hells Bells.

Only this time the Bells are placed between the ankles of the bandmembers and the song is called is called Big Balls Two: Pendulous Clapperoos .

On the Verizon Wireless label?

Cliff Williams:"When the last tour ended in early 2001, you'd see kids on their dads' shoulders. And these kids were like 10, 12 years old. It will be tremendous to see that again."

This time it will be kids on their dad's on their grandfather's shoulders!

Agreed. Though, Ballbreaker had some poetic moments:

Razor back,
a hog attack
building steam
whipping cream
she likes a fat
smoking stack

Saw AC/DC in '88 (I'll be 40 tomorrow, get off my lawn you little bastards)....and those farkin' cannons contributed greatly to the constant ringing in my ears now.....I swear to Jebus, that was the LOUDEST sound I've ever felt, yes felt, the noise when those things went off was absorbed by my blood I think......Luckily it was towards the end of the show, so I only missed hearing about 10 minutes of it.....But yeah, I'd go see them again....

MrWhipee 2008-02-20 06:08:30 PM
Cliff Williams better get practicing up on his one note bass lines.

I remember seeing AC/DC on their "stiff upper lip" tour. I made damn sure to bring a set of earplugs just in case of "For those about to rock"

barneyfifesbullet 2008-02-20 06:15:40 PM
They'll make the same album they always make, and it will be good.

Not as great as the Bon Scott era, but still pretty good. Great compared to all of the other crap out there.

KICK...ASS!!!

mongbiohazard 2008-02-20 06:36:31 PM
Sooooooo a bunch of aging rockers is going to re-record the same mediocre record they've been putting out over and over again for decades? Yeah, can't wait to get in on that...

5150cd 2008-02-20 06:47:16 PM
Jesus.

I like AC/DC, but they have nothing more to contribute musically. They're like Kiss, except with talent.

/holding out for some new -=VH=- tuneage

Do you know anything about rock and roll????

AC/DC is a group that I've always wanted to see in concert. Hopefully now I'll have the chance.

You're too late, they've joked about this for years.

When told a rock critic said they've released 9 albums that all sound the same, Malcom Young replied " That's not true, we've released 11 albums that all sound the same"

Gangway Fathead 2008-02-20 06:58:22 PM
Survey says the chords G, C, and D will figure heavily.

jiaxiaobo 2008-02-20 07:10:54 PM
Saw them the spring of '01 in Boston. Brian's voice has long been shot (hell, from our vantage point we could see him backstage in the wings smoking and drinking during the solos) but the band, old as they are, definitely brought it that night. 'For Those' with the cannons and 'Whole Lotta' with the giant blow-up doll were particularly memorable. Fans were enthusiastic - band was definitely energetic and tight. Okay, that was 7 years ago, but I would definitely suggest seeing them if you like their music.

AdolfOliverPanties [TotalFark] 2008-02-20 07:21:10 PM
Sadly, Angus will no longer wear the schoolboy shorts as his aging drooping testicles hanging out the bottom expose the group to indecency ordinances in many municipalities.

This.

\But it's easy and fun to play!

davynelson 2008-02-20 07:58:24 PM
That is one band I never imagined back in the seventies I would still have to listen to today, cranking out the same fuhking tune over and over again- with no sense of dynamics, melody or invention.

AC/DC suck the big one and always have.

They were a 'joke' band to us back then.
Now the joke is old.

The_Sponge [TotalFark] 2008-02-20 08:03:58 PM
FARK YEAH!!!!

/Saw them in '96 at the Tacoma Dome.

Flappyhead 2008-02-20 08:08:53 PM
Saw them in concert on the Stiff Upper Lip Tour, hopefully they come to town on this one as well. So what if their songs are practically all the same, it's still light years better then what we're getting force fed on American Idol and it's clones.

EnemyFrank 2008-02-20 08:18:48 PM
Hey davynelson - let me guess... You like Styx. You think Yes rock pretty hard. Todd Rundgren makes you rigid. You're a big fan of prog-rock.

You don't like the Ramones, Motorhead, Nirvana or the Sex Pistols. Am I right?

Yeah, AC-DC is repetitive. Who cares?? If you can listen to any of their Bon Scott era stuff and not feel the rock, there's a good chance you're a complete ass. Enjoy your Steely Dan albums.

markiedog 2008-02-20 08:32:35 PM
I don't want to say they're getting old but I hear they want to call the new cd "Back in Black Socks with Sandals!

Some of the songs they're working on.

"For Those About to Rock...in front of Cracker Barrel
We Salute You."

The Prostate song; "You Woke Me All Night Long".

"Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap With Your AARP Card.

Hells Bells...who left the door open?"

I welcome our aging 3 chord overlords! Rock on guys!

Flappyhead: (edited) So what if their songs are practically all the same, it's still light years better then what we're getting force fed on American Idol and it's clones.

thats exactly what i was going to say!

/i cant wait.Hope they rock as hard as the Bonn Scott era.

Think again. That voice is back and better than ever! This is from 2007!

no enemyfrank you are somewhat incorrect

true, ramones suck via boredom, and pistols never really kicked it on vinyl
both are the commercial product of their exciting live energy shows
which was simply never captured on record;

but richard hell, stooges and television rock

styx blow, i mean come on dude

nirvana ok if overrated,
dying helped

right now though
check out Black Mountain's In The Future,

it's a real ode to the classic rock of the early seventies
without succumbing to mere imitation;

shades of sabbath, zep, spooky tooth,
highly recommended-
it is so damn genuine, and kicks ass.

EnemyFrank 2008-02-20 09:28:25 PM
Ok, I'll check that out. Didn't mean to hit you with the Styx club. I just get defensive of bands I love.

I'm with you on The stooges & Television. Can't agree on the Ramones or the Pistols, though. You really can't feel Never Mind The Bollocks? It's such a perfect album.

While we're giving tips, check out The Hellacopters and/or The Wildhearts. Pure rock. They've both been around for a long time, but never had much success in the U.S.

davynelson 2008-02-20 09:58:21 PM
right on
thanks, i always like recommendations from solid sources
i'm downloading some already.

yeah the black mountain, they really let it build
it's not about flashiness at all
no cheesy guitar solos here

http://www.metacritic.com/music/artists/blackmountain/inthefuture

rewarding for patient ears,IMO
OH YEAH i had nevermind the bollocks no worries
and on my first radio show played the ramones

(much to the chagrin of the programming director,
as i was supposed to play mellow lunch tunes)

hahah

They were the best damned band that I ever seen!

Not really but close. Saw them first in Norfolk, VA in the mid to late 70's. Forgive me for not having an exact date, those years all blend together. I am old.

AC/DC is what rock n' roll is at it's best. Stripped down, balls to the walls, make no apologies music.

My favorite AC/DC tune is The Jack, bluesy and bawdy, full of attitude and just plain fun.

If the new stuff has that flavor I will be there. Well, maybe not, I think I paid under $20 for two tickets back in the 70's...not sure I can pay the fare now. If you can when the boys play again I'd say go. I'd be surprised if those boys disappoint ya.

Saw them in 2000 on the Stiff Upper Lip tour, and have the hearing damage to prove it. Great concert, would see again.

But those kids are 17-19 years old now. It's kinda creepy for a kid that old to be sitting on Dad or Grandpop's shoulders. Gramps better have a strong back.

Mendlebaum! Mendlebaum! Mendlebaum!

If they come within 6 hours of me. I'm going. It's one of my favorite bands I've never got to see live.
