I'm sure he'll also go off in some insane tirade about how a vegetarian lifestyle is the only healthy lifestyle.

At least he has a leg to stand on.

Apu agrees.

One of my favorite jokes you to be:
Q: What has three legs and lives on a farm?
A: The McCartneys

I guess I will be packing that one away with all my Brokeback Mountain jokes. I'll be okay as long as there are Spears girls though.

I would think he would play, Maybe I'm Amazed instead of Live and Let Die as a tribute to his dead wife...

Man, he looks like Angela Landsbury these days.

After knowing the story behind the lyrics of "Hey Jude" I find that a lot creepier as a tribute to John versus "Live and Let Die" for Linda.

Beatles story time!

"Hey Jude" was written by McCartney for John Lennon's son Julian Lennon after John's divorce from his first wife Cynthia. Apparently Paul was friends with Cynthia and would take trips to see her and Julian every once in a while, and during one of his trips to see them, originally using the lyric "Hey Jules" which according to McCartney has eventually changed because, "Jude sounded better" (More likely to prevent anyone from making the connection and sensing possible rifts between the band members).

Also, you have to keep in mind that Julian and John never had the best of relationships (Something John said he regretted and wished to fix shortly before his death), since Julian had been told by his father on more than one occasion apparently that unlike Sean, he was born because of, "a bottle of Jack Daniels and a night of poor decisions."

On the other hand, Paul has also said, many times, that he likes to play "Hey Jude" in rememberence of John because of one particular interaction they had when Paul was first fleshing out the lyrics. He played the song to John and got to the "the movement you need is on your shoulder" part. Paul told John to ignore the lyric there as it was just some gibberish to fill space until he thought of something better. John told him to keep it as he thought it was the best line in the song.

You mean McCartney's robot/lookalike? Bah, I'd rather listen to Lennon, the REAL Beatle.
/Jesus 2.0 will be combination of him and MLK.

AFarkingTempest: find that a lot creepier as a tribute to John

From John's 1980 Playboy interview:

He said it was written about Julian. He knew I was splitting with Cyn and leaving Julian then. He was driving to see Julian to say hello. He had been like an uncle. And he came up with "Hey Jude." But I always heard it as a song to me. Now I'm sounding like one of those fans reading things into it...Think about it: Yoko had just come into the picture. He is saying. "Hey Jude" -- "Hey John." Subconsciously, he was saying, "Go ahead, leave me." On a conscious level, he didn't want me to go ahead. The angel in him was saying, "Bless you." The Devil in him didn't like it at all, because he didn't want to lose his partner.

Agree with "Maybe I'm Amazed" as the Linda tribute. I get kinda choked up every time I hear it, thinking of how great a tune it is, and how cool it musta been to have a Beatle write you such a kick-ass unequivocally wonderful love song...just for you.

Of course, he could play "Cook of the House" but it probably wouldn't have the same touch.

He could also do something in memory of George, who is also dead.

Yeah, those are *not* the songs to sing to honor them. Those are the exact wrong ones. I agree with AFarkingTempest. A much better choice would be "My Love" and "Here Today", the latter of which he actually wrote for John after his death.

Except "Live and Let Die" and "Hey Jude" are awesome, and "My Love" is only okay and "Here Today" sucks.

Yeah, you could argue that, but as far as songs honoring their memories are concerned, I really think those are unfortunate choices. But maybe I just care about lyrics too much.

For all we know, Linda loved "Live and Let Die" and hated "My Love." Nobody knew Linda or John better than Paul did.

I like Paul, not his solo stuff so much. I miss John and George. I wish Linda was still around for the guy. Good to have Ringo still kicking

I'm listening to Cook Of The House right this minute.

no matter where I serve my guests
they seem to like the kitchen best...

It always amazed me that those two stayed married until she died. Not your stereotypical rock marriage.
