I bet he looks farking disgusting with his clothes off. I dated a chick that once weighed 250 and had dropped down to 130. The skin just hung off of her like a shirt about 5 sizes too big. Yes I know he's had surgery to remove it, but there's no way his skin looks normal.

kunibob 2008-02-18 08:04:50 PM
Wow, he looks decades younger and much healthier. Good for him!

He'll have some surgery scars, and his belly button might look a bit odd, but other than that he'll look normal.

I wonder if he tried dieting first. I mean, it's awesome that he took the step and dropped the weight, but I always wonder if people who have this surgery try diets first...or do they just jump on the operating table?

OTOH, did you see what he would eat before noon?!? Holy, crap! I don't eat that much in a week.

Now he can make "Funny or Die" videos with Jerry O'Connell. Maybe Jeff "Chunk" Cohen can join them.

A friend of mine tried dieting for years (he's a pro wrestler who, at his heaviest, weighed in at around 400), but kept yo-yoing like crazy (from 340 down to 215, before skyrocketing up to 390) before finally getting the gastric bypass done about 2 years ago. He's currently holding steady at about 220, but will probably weigh even less than that once he can afford the surgery to remove the excess skin.

Even after the surgery he has to maintain a steady diet to stay at that weight. No one can legitimately lose 315 pounds, but this guy did the next best thing and remains responsible afterward. I say good for him. He's obviously more healthy, and it sounds like he feels better about himself.

/Hate vanity however.
//IMO this isn't a case of vanity.

Holy cow. As others have said, I'm not gay but god-damn that turned him into a fine looking man. Good for him.

There was this kid I went grade school with, and his mother was always "portly" to put it nicely. Anyway a few years ago she had the GB surgery, and it ended up killing her a day later from complications. I really don't know where I'm going with this, but this surgery isn't exactly like getting a nose job.

There is a higher level of risk associated with gastric bypass than with many types of surgury because the patients are inherently less healthy.

fark, dieting? Goddamn, why didn't I think of that before? Dieting? Shiat, maybe I should try dieting. Seriously, thanks! Nobody ever suggested a diet before.

Holy shiat!

He did some extras on the Not Another Teen Movie DVD (shamefully one of my all-time favorites) and was already way thinner. They were also discussing it in the commentary. But wow, he looks a thousand times better now.

My mom had gastric bypass. Yes, there can be complications - with my mom, some of the stitching came undone and she began to have fluid buildup in her body. It took her quite a while to finally have everything even out; it was weird to see her with drains and whatnot, and she had to go to plastic surgery a few times to remove all the skin. But she's healthier than she's been her entire life.

I also dated a woman once who had it. She showed me before-and-after pictures. It was like night and day.

Good for Billy Bob.

Welcome to years ago.

/old news

chesterburnette 2008-02-18 11:06:43 PM
A lot of people who end up with that surgery have biochemical issues--their bodies don't process leptin normally, for instance. So, they either walk around with a sensation of *starving* (the kind that normal people feel when we are so hungry we can't even think straight) or they eat a huge amount.

It doesn't take an obese person the same amount of "will power" to resist food that it takes you or me. (Just as it's no trouble for me to resist a cigarette, but take away my coffee and you have somethin vicious on yer hands.)

/or stupid.
//or both.

Size SIXTY FOUR jeans? FORTY SEVEN POUNDS OF SKIN REMOVED?

Wow.

I used to work part time at a Jos A Bank store and we had a number of guys come in who had lost 60-100 pounds and they carried 'before' picturs with them. Just amazing.

I also know three guys who went on South Beach and lost considerable weight; one of them is like Lester: a rather homely looking guy who turned out to be kinda hunky under the fat, and as previously stated by others, Im not gay, not that theres anything wrong with that.

It is just willpower and getting off your ass. I bike to work instead of drive.

And yes for you fat guys less apron fat means more wang length which can be a blessing or a curse depending on how much length you had when fat.

Getting gastric bypass is a total cop out.

:)

What do they do with all the excess skin when they remove it? If it was me, I'd definitely want it back:

Friend: "Hey BG, nice boots! What are they, ostrich?"

Me: Smirks at camera, nods knowingly
