Yeah, from what I hear, when she's the Boss, everyone's bills will be paid directly by Yhe Rich. Yay for me - no more car payments after Jan naught eight !

Or at least, she's willing to pretend she does until November.

FTFA: Clinton is courting working-class voters with a new message of economic populism similar to the theme of John Edwards, the former North Carolina senator who dropped out of the Democratic race in January.

Another day, another new message from the candidate of change.

Message changed to reflect what polls say you want to hear.

I always thought it was Bill who felt our pain.

Oh wait, he's over in the other thread, feeling the strippers pain (I guess that what they call it now).

But now I have the response to the eternal question,"Who Cares?"

Hillary, obviously.

I'll just direct all complaints to her from now on.

The fact that people fall for this shiat every election year is maddening.

Gosling [TotalFark] 2008-02-17 03:31:57 PM
If she cares about, for example, Wisconsin, she should stick around for Tuesday and take her lumps. You're playing for delegates, Hillary. Leaving early like you've done everywhere else you've lost is only going to flip that one extra delegate to Obama that you might have otherwise kept.

Dinobot 2008-02-17 03:35:18 PM
On yesterday's phone survey, the questions reflected this "change" from the Clinton camp, I told 'em I was still voting for Obama

sentient_being 2008-02-17 03:36:15 PM
She railed against a tax code that she said was unfair to the middle class and against the outsourcing of jobs overseas. "We're going to keep jobs by making it abundantly clear that there will not be one penny of your tax dollars that goes to anyone who exports jobs out of Wisconsin," Clinton said.

Well, that certainly solves that issue.

CodeGod 2008-02-17 03:36:26 PM
Oh geez, suck it up democrats.
You guys does this in every single election, it's been driving everyone else crazy for 70+ years, don't start pretending this is Hillary stuff.

Every year you guys comes out with your famous electioneering tagline:

"And for women, we promise more women stuff! For blacks, more black stuff! For Hispanics, more Hispanic stuff! For gays, more gay stuff! My opponent eats kittens and wants to sleep with his mother. Thank you, good night."

Suck it up: Hillary is 100% what you guys deserve.

wydok 2008-02-17 03:37:53 PM
She feels our pain? I don't think so. From what I understand of their relationship, she hasn't gotten it in the ass by any president like the rest of us have...

That could only sound good compared to the other side's even dumber "Women, your womb belongs to your husband/the patriarch of your family! Hispanics, go back to your own country, unless you'd like to cut my yard! Gays, go back into the closet, you detestable sinners! My opponent wants to give America to terrorists and force us into communism! Thank you and good night."

And people wonder why I register as an independent.

what do all her campaign contributors think when she puts out ads saying she has always fought them and will continue to fight. and i still don't understand how someone can be so comfortable with bold faced lies. i get sick every time i see that fake smile and tree stump legs

She didn't care that my son would be sent to Iraq and that Code Pink and other mothers against the war literally begged for the lives of their sons and daughters. Hillary turned her back and walked away. Now she says she cares? Pick up a gun biatch and go fight your war. Send your ugly ass daughter over there too.

This coming from the candidate who has taken more money from lobbyists and PACs than all the others...I smell BS.

Universal health care seems to work fine for the military -- a fairly large organization.

keithgabryelski: Universal health care seems to work fine for the military -- a fairly large organization.

Are you joking me??? Veterans hospitals/clinics have tons of problems and are constantly being held up by red tape.

Lawnchair 2008-02-17 04:13:07 PM
Universal health care can more-or-less work. In first-world countries, it works via the normal means of progressive taxation. The Clinton and Obama plans preserve the insurance model, which is that your cost of health care should have nothing to do with how much you make (unless you make just about nothing), but should be based on how sick you have been in the past and how old you are. Mandating this model, particularly with no forced reduction of health costs, insurance profits, and overhead expenditures or punishment for reneging on promised insurance coverage, is painfully regressive.

These plans suck. There are people in the House and Senate that realize this. That's why Hillary couldn't get a similar plan passed in a Democratic House and Senate in 1993. I'm hoping Obama is a little more willing to compromise.

jonasborg [TotalFark] 2008-02-17 04:14:05 PM
Can they simply offer universal health care, not mandate it? I'm all for that.

Seeing as how the libs "took over" the Republican party, I'm not quite sure of that ;)

Naaaayeah, I don't think I'd be touting the VA as an example of how wonderful universal health-care will be. Think Sweden - I hear Sweden is just like heaven, except with hot-blond-on-blond-sex and everything is free and there is singing and dancing in the streets paved with free gold and everybody lives to be a hunnert and fifty.

Clearly you've never fallen off a vehicle, landed wrong, waited overnight to go to sick call, then in the morning, some E-3, fresh out of AIT looks at your twisted, swollen ankle you can barely fit a boot around, hands you 4 Motrin and tells you to suck it up.

I respect John McCain a lot more than Hillary on economics just because he has the balls (no pun) to tell it like it is:

"I've got to give you some straight talk: Some of the jobs that have left the state of Michigan are not coming back. They are not. And I am sorry to tell you that."

Fact is states like Michigan, Wisconsin, and anywhere that is not home to tons of white collar executives is going to suffer. Recessions screw over the poor first. Any President that would be retarded enough to keep trying to prop up US industries like the automobile industry should not be elected. To succeed America must invest in education and train Americans to be able to do jobs that can't be done by computers or by 5 cent an hour workers in Asia.

Yeah military medical coverage is far better for veterans and horrible for those actually in the military. Unless you've been shot or have a metal pipe jammed into your skull you will only get motrin.

My buddy was walking on a hair-line fractured ankle for about 3 months before the clinic got sick of his biatching and actually X-Rayed him.

Motrin for three months for broken ankle.

I listened to that speech and she is so trying to capture Obama's ability to tap into the mood of the country and she fails miserably because she focuses on herself and the negative stuff way to much. It reeks of desperation. She needs to just be herself and develop her own message and purpose for her candidacy besdies having power for it's own sake. Or maybe that is all she ever had to begin with.

i like the way obama put it in his book several times.

we might debate the means to reach a goal, but the goal should not be up for debate. the goal, in this case, should be having every american citizen living a healthy life. we are, after all, the most wealthy nation in the world, there is no excuse to have sections of our population with infant mortality rates on par with third world countries.
