I'd vote for a parking meter before I'd vote for Al Gore. And as for "fracturing the party", if Hillary's a Democrat, I'm a Got damned vegetarian. And unless the Delmonico I just had for dinner counts as a vegetable, which in her world it may, the parking meter wins in a landslide.

Besides, when the game is on the line, Al Gore grabs his binky and goes home. I thought it was funny in 2000, until I saw the havoc an idiot could wreak on this country I love.

DarthBrooks [TotalFark] 2008-02-16 08:14:59 PM
Simply put:

Hillary vs. McCain = President McCain.
Obama vs. McCain = President Obama.

The choice is up to the Democrats.

Or rather, their unwavering ability to find the losing-est candidate (for details, see "McGovern/Mondale/Dukakis/Gore/Kerry campaigns") in Presidential elections.

For fark's sake, when will this silliness end? Most people don't want that pompous windbag anywhere near the white house, including him. If he wanted to run, he would have.

Might as well. Even with a Democrat in the White House, do you really thing Congressional dems will do anything but pass meaningless feel-good bills and bend over for the Republicans?

to be fair, Gore is the least losingest of that list.

While I did support Gore's opponent in that primary, Bradley, and felt him to be the better choice based on issues, I still tend to believe Gore had the best shot at the presidency among the Democratic field that year.
The popular vote also agreed.

Really, did we want a president that had such a violent last name?

Gore! The bull GORED him. On the battlefield the soldier stepped in GORE.

Those propagandist that hated the U.S of A would have had a field day!

We should be thankful to the electoral college.

Now conjugate the verb 'to rule' in the Black Speech.

So what do you propose, Subby? Clinton is utterly consumed with powerlust and she's not going to give up until she's forced to, even though Obama's looking to blow her away again next week. Should the forces of good (or at least not-entirely-evil) within the Democratic party meekly let her win the nomination and condemn us to Bushco v2.0?

Or nominate the man who was so uninspiring and ran such a bad campaign he managed to take 8 years of peace, prosperity, and his status as VP of a popular president and lose to a functionally retarded neocon meat-puppet?

In any case, I agree with the general consensus that Obama > McCain > Clinton. Clinton's presidential campaign would mirror her nomination bid. She began as heir-apparent, but it turns out that the more people learn about her, the less they like her. Reports of her inevitability were greatly overstated and her campaign is about to collapse. If she wins the nomination, her presidential bid will jump straight to the "implode" phase since people already know about her.

I seriously feel that given the question "Why do you feel like you would make a better president than your opponent?" Gore OR Kerry could have simply said:

"Really? Well for starters, why would you trust this nation's nuclear capability with a man who can't pronounce it? Oh, and I tied my own shoes this morning."

And for Bush's rebuttal: "Haha. That's why I got Velcro!"

Huh? You are suggesting that Gore's endorsement, the man who was leading in many polls despite not running, will hurt a candidate?

What do you base that on besides your personal dislike of him?

This year is possibly different. Oregon could matter, in the sense that it will be one of the last states, and if there's still a race, it may be important.
