I hate Rush.

SofaKingHuge 2008-02-16 06:50:23 PM
Quite possibly one of the worst music lists I've ever seen.

birdmanesq: I hate Rush.

They always seemed to be trying to hard, huh?

Has anyone suggested a Tom Petty movie?

I think it's meant as a joke, y'all

strangeguitar 2008-02-16 08:42:17 PM
I'd love to see King Diamond's Abigail or Them turned into films.
Both are good horror stories.

Outlaw_Rudy [TotalFark] 2008-02-16 08:57:32 PM
It was easily one of the worst films I've seen in the last few months. I realized going in that they were going to be a bit literal with some of the songs, but it was just plain terrible. Literally carrying the Statue of Liberty into Vietnam? Are you kidding?

polaputzier 2008-02-16 09:27:14 PM
This could easily be the bottom of all top 10 list. Except for
Rush, of course.

treecologist 2008-02-16 09:29:07 PM
Someone oughta make a movie about Sid Vicious. That bastard was an awesome base player.

Gangway Fathead 2008-02-16 09:30:45 PM
I just typed a long post about why almost every one of those Elvis Costello songs was used improperly, but quickly got over myself.

Not over enough not to post this, however.

BTW, the music of They Might Be Giants would make a great movie.

(Up until about John Henry)

I never really understood why so many people liked Rush. They seemed good but not that good.

Could someone be nice and explain what the deal with rush is? Seriously, what is it about them that escapes me?

Electric Wizard.

7th Son of a 7th Son: That is all.

Been done, sorta, about 13 years ago. I remember it from way back in the day, and after seeing your post, I had to look it up and make sure it wasn't just my memory playing tricks on me.

With that out of the way, why hitch together disparate songs ie The Ramones, (which, seriously, WTF?) for a story when Coheed and Cambria has a nearly-incomprehensible story already made? lol... It makes for a pretty good comic, but it's just an angrier Star Wars with a harder soundtrack.

Dear_Leader: Joes Garage

This.

Why hasn't this already been made into a movie?

OMGlookatthat_HUGE_P_HOLE 2008-02-16 10:33:59 PM
Cannibal Corpse. Come on, with such love ballads as "Mummified in Barbedwire" and "Entrails ripped from a virgin's c***"?

Thirded.

Also, Mars Volta would be a pretty farked up movie.

Ayreon - any album except Actual Fantasy.

DD0 [TotalFark] 2008-02-16 10:41:22 PM
No, the movie was crap. They took an easy sale, Beatles music, and made a pile of dog shiat out of it.

GAT_00 [TotalFark] 2008-02-16 10:44:37 PM
I'd rather have a 2112 movie. Or a Cygnus X-1/Hemispheres movie. I like the long epic Rush songs.

I also think Thick As A Brick is awesome. Judge my tastes as you will.

j0ebear 2008-02-16 10:49:31 PM
Dude in that movie better play Kurt Kobain if such movie is made about Nirvana

Stompn_Tom: Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime

Amen

I have often thought about the this as an awesome soundtrack to a hit man movie

unfortunately a bunch of those movie have come out in recent times and have been crap so
I think this one would be a hard sell to the studios

I get the (old) joke about him being an awesome bass player, but how is pretending there is no movie about him funny?

End of the world story drawing from Absolution & Black Holes albums mostly, along with snippets from Hullabaloo, Origin, and Showbiz.

/Would be epic
//In my eyes anyway
///End of the world Fark party? :)

Courtney Cox-Zucker [TotalFark] 2008-02-16 11:32:53 PM
No Led Zeppelin? "Misty Mountain Hop," "Over the Hills and Far Away," and "Battle of Evermore" could really make an interesting movie.

wydok 2008-02-16 11:42:35 PM
I haven't seen the film yet, but it's on my Netflix queue.

Also U2's Acthung Baby could make a decent movie.

I'd see the movie based on "Lights Out!" by Angry Samoans...

You know those kids who rave endlessly about the Mars Volta? Rush are like, an old man's version.

tehotherbilly 2008-02-17 12:02:26 AM
1) Any King Diamond album could be adapted into a movie.
2) Def Leppard's Hysteria would be the perfect choice if you wanted to see an epic movie involving strippers.
3) Personally I'd want to see a movie based on Slayer's Reign In Blood, or possibly Seasons In The Abyss.

It was more a matter of seeing who would respond. Thanks for playing.

Say what you will, but despite the overplaying, I think American Idiot by Green Day would be great for this. Great punk-rock opera.
Last I heard (2 years ago) they were thinking up a screen play for the album.

Interrupted Infinitum 2008-02-17 12:49:12 AM
I think one of Mars Volta's albums may make a nice, trippy movie, something to toke up to.

BorgiaGinz [TotalFark] 2008-02-17 01:04:11 AM
I think you could make a kick-ass fantasy film using the music of King Crimson, The Alan Parsons Project or David Bowie.

oldandwiser 2008-02-17 01:09:34 AM
Dear_Leader.....I agree. The best scene would be "Why Does It Hurt When I Pee?"

CaptainFatass 2008-02-17 01:20:53 AM
I for one am waiting for a movie based on the music of The Mentors.

i'd rather see 'hitler's cock'

/now i have that goofy militant drum intro in my head
