I'm sure the GOP Christian farkers here will immediately prove him wrong by turning the other cheek...

Go ahead, attack Barkley and then explain why John 8:7 doesn't apply to you.

I wouldn't vote for him just because I like him so much on TNT. I don't want him to go off the air.

Oh WOW!!! I keep forgetting how much weight I give people who are able to play sports or who can act like someone else (actors)!! So who does he say I should vote for and why??

/Had to strike the "and why" comment...I only care about who he tells me to vote for...

I agree with him to an extent. I always wondered how the "party of limited government" got so mixed up with religion, it doesn't make any sense.

Charles Barkley -- "real christian" -- feels that babies SHOULD be chopped up and vacuumed from their mother's womb. Obviously a very christian sentiment. Thank you Charles.

Killer Miller 2008-02-16 04:40:58 AM
They can't do anything to me. I don't work for them

The thing is that he wants to work for them, as their governor. If he really thinks he can be elected governor of Alabama as a black man with those views then he is delusional.

Nope, just fetuses and embryos. Very different.

/Bible says nothing about abortion
//Says plenty about not mixing the things of God with the things of men

Pro-choice means mandatory abortion via baby vacuum. If necessary, the baby will actually be prevented from being born so as to extend the abortion time frame, and in fact many babies are murdered after birth and re-inserted in to the mother's womb to make it look legal.

Charles Barkley is a smart man. You only have to listen to him for a while to understand how clever he is. And, more importantly, he is absolutely right.

Christian principles:
Be generous
Be meek
Be forgiving
Be accomodating
Lead by example, not by force

Republican principles:
Be selfish
Be proud
Punish
Forbid
Lead by force

El_Dan: Pro-choice means mandatory abortion via baby vacuum.

And "Pro Life" means throwing women in jail for having miscarriages, legalized slavery of all females, denying those non aborted fetuses health care so they can die of a horrible disease when they are 1.

Well, considering that the Bible endorses the death penalty for touching Mount Sinai, among many other things, I think perhaps the sentiment is at least consistent with scripture.

IF True and I dont quite know where you can pull that number from since donations DONT require disclosing your political affilation...I suspect Republicans only do to basically get a Tax Break and Launder their money.

The stoning of an adulterer, the incident behind that verse, was also biblically founded. Christians tend to believe that, when the Old and New Testaments are in conflict, particularly in cases where the teachings come from Jesus himself, the latter trumps the former.

I think it would be better to call them Christian Taliban or Christian Wahhabists, less contextually they would be Cristo-fascists I guess. But he's right on target. It's more of a tribe for these people to join and attack others than it is about spirituality, peace in their heart and contentment. Vile extremists are trying to call the shots on both sides. Humans tend to degrade, to lose their humanity in a group, a mob.

I think right wing christianity is about drawing out all that is vile in that mob mentality.

Real Christians throw people through plate glass windows.

Charles Barkley appeared on The Situation Room to promote Barack Obama's candidacy.

He has said many times that he isn't a Republican. He would run as a Republican just to get elected governor of Alabama.

Feel free to stay the hell out of my Party, Charles.

no he feels that just cuz he spent his seed in a womb does not give him the right to make another person do what he wants, just cuz he gave his 2 teaspooms of DNA

The "Christian right" wish to make sex as dangerous as possible, they are against choice, because it gives women rights, they are against contraception, because if you make sex dangerouse its easier to control, and if you control who farks and when you control them.

Its not about morality its about control!

"Conservatives are fake Christians." Obvious.

"They can't do anything to me. I don't work for them." I wouldn't count on that. They're really, really good at character assassination. It's the only thing they're good at.

He said that the GOP were fake and hypocrites. And that is true.

payne51558: IF True and I dont quite know where you can pull that number from since donations DONT require disclosing your political affilation...

I've seen the study he is referring to and it includes church donations and donations by corporations for tax reasons in its "average". It also covers donations made for the sake of getting collector's plates, which isn't really a donation at all (doesn't matter whether it's for NASCAR or a Dr. Who set, that's a purchase not a bloody donation).

I agree with everything Barkley said: the republican Party has been hijacked by a bunch of Bible thumping phonies who really want us to be stupid enough to believe that they give a shiat about limited government. The current Republican Party is nothing more than a hypocritical joke.

And hey it's not like Barry Goldwater didn't warn you idiots about these Bible thumping assholes.

The funny thing is, they think that spending an hour doing low-grade calisthenics in a gaudy building tomorrow will wipe the slate clean. It won't. You'll still be assholes, just pious assholes.

I think one of the passages calls for a small fine to be paid. Otherwise, nil.
