Hillary can't get March here fast enough. Woah...

What the hell is with the polls this year? First all of them showed Obama winning New Hampshire. Then they underestimated his South Carolina win. And Zogby showed a huge lead for Obama in California. WTF.

The Daily Show got a hold of some poll master-guy and tore him a new one on how much they suck and how useless polls are. He had nothing to say.

When you have 24 hour news channels and everyone needs to know the results of everything right now, throw numbers out there, who cares if they're accurate? It's like the weather reports. They're never correct but people take stock in them anyway.

Cyberluddite [TotalFark] 2008-02-15 07:23:17 PM
smooshie: And Zogby showed a huge lead for Obama in California. WTF.

That poll might not have been all that inaccurate. I believe that poll was of people who intended to vote on election day. But something like 1/3 of California's ballots were cast as absentee ballots weeks previously, before Obama's candidacy really took off, and those votes skewed heavily towards Hillary, and probably were largely responsible for her margin of victory. I wouldn't be surprised if, of the votes actually cast on election day, more people voted for Obama than Hillary.

None of this is intended to suggest, of course, that any of the polls we're talking about now are accurate or inaccurate.

This poll accounts for independents and republicans who can cross over and vote in Texas's open primary. That group went 3-1 for Obama. The other poll only asked Democrats.

Polls are no guarantee of anything, but this fact in both Ohio and Texas seems to make it unlikely that Hillary will get significant wins in either state, given that McCain has the Republican nomination wrapped up.

nice. srsly though, it's gotten to the point where I don't care on the Democratic side. I would take either candidate since my guy is gone. The republican race was the more socially relevant one. But now it's time to just focus on March.

California has early voting not just absentee voting take away early voting and I think Obama would have won. Plus they pretty much split the delegates Obama got 170-something Clinton got 180 something.

I'm still hoping the republicans split into their individual components and the party falls apart, while Obama takes the presidency and Hillary Clinton throws a big enough fit to break the democratic party in a similar manner. Get a whole bunch of new groups started.

Caught the earlier poll today that had Clinton ahead by 8 points and remarked it was an improvement for Obama. Now it looks like he's doing even better than that. Hillary may be rethinking her "4 corners" strategy of concentrating on the Ca, NY, FLA and TX races to the exclusion of the rest. Looks like she may have Guillianied herself here.

Obamam will kick ass in Austin where he's already more popular than sliced bread and chicks who swallow.

The rest of the state has a serious Hillary hate going on and it was only her much vaunted "inevitability" that had her ahead by most accounts. As her "eviltabilty" becomes more readily apparenet and Obama's relative lack of baggage, likability, and seriousness get better known his number can only go up.

My guess is Hillary numbers can only go down from here on in.

On the plus side fer the Shrill the Clinton News Netweork just did an interview with "magic" Johnson asking him why he was a shill for Hill.

Quatchi giggled. His inarticulousness added to the general ridiculousness of the interview.

/Magic Johnson~ A guy more famous fer what he did with his 'Johnson' off the court than fer his 'Magic' on the court.
//Charles Barkley, on the other hand, is down with Obama fer anyone who consider roundball players as go-to guys fer political analysis.

I'm noticing something more and more recently... Especially with h4r here and rush_sent_me_to_troll... They claim that Obama can never win because the country is racist, but they seem to be the only ones making race a top issue over and over and over...

I could really go for a real cheezburger after 8 years of being sold a bun with ketchup on it. And the ketchup turns out to be blood, and the bun is made of styrofoam. Dubyaburger.

This is just anecdotal evidence, but today in the bookstore I work at(in the suburbs) I broached the March 4th primary with about 20 customers. I'd say 15 of the 20 leaned heavily towards Obama, and all were registered to vote and said they intended to vote.
Obamamentum is here and the independent vote will give him the state.
