I never said there weren't other factors that have contributed to the economic downturn, maybe you could act like an adult and point out where I said that. You should also look up the definitions of words if you're not sure what they mean, because I wasn't remotely hypocritical. Actually, many states past anti-predatory lending laws that would of made the house market collapse not nearly as bad but the Bush administration put the kebosh on those laws.

So yes the government DOES affect the economy.
