I wore out that VHS tape back in the 80s. I bought the DVD first day out.
My first concert was the Powerslave tour (Allentown, Pa) with Accept opening up.
Still in my top 3 of all time.

Soundtrack to my childhood that. I knew so many of Steve's basslines that there are still people in my hometown who know me as "'Arry" (a terrible blasphemy and a massive compliment). Will be buying this very shortly.

submitter: Up the irons

Indeed sir. Infookingdeed.

I saw that tour six times, wore out two copies of the video tape version, and have bought the audio version countless times on record and cassette over the years. (Thank God it finally was remastered and released on CD).

Finally on DVD, I am so pumped. Come on Amazon, it's been a week dammit!

Best Live Metal show on tape ever by far. If not the best live show on tape of any genre. Yes, it's that good.

#1 in England? Since when did 'Big in Newcastle' replace 'Big on YouTube' as a measurement of a band's popularity?

Great DVD. Just like previous posts, I wore out VHS copy. Been a fan since..(well, lets just say the tall ships were in Newport, RI for some thing called the Bicentennial). Seen every tour since 1981 (AMOLAD in Hartford was last one) and i'm pumped for 'SOMEWHERE BACK IN TIME -- WORLD TOUR 08' with Powerslave set in all it's glory. Looks like it's MSG in NY for me until they get N.America dates mapped out. I hope they play "Back in the Village".('bout time they play it live).

I've been living off my bootleg laserdisc version of this for sometime now. FNA, I can't wait for Powerslave 2.0 to hit an arena nearby this summer/fall.

The World Slavery Tour was the tour. No one before or since has ever toured like Maiden did when supporting Powerslave. Unfortunately, I lived three hundred miles from the nearest arena that could hold their massive stage show. It is as if a part of my teen years have huge hole in them.

I can only hope they decide to come near by with the new tour.

Greatest live album ever.

Up the Irons.

gruelurks: I can't wait for Powerslave 2.0 to hit an arena nearby this summer/fall.

The Maiden "World" Tour is only playing two shows in the US; LA on 2/19/2008 and New Jersey; 3/14/2008
You can catch them in Toronto though; 3/16/2008

They're not even playing San Antonio, which is the metal capital of North America.

/totally bummed.

TFA:Confirmed dates so far for the SOMEWHERE BACK IN TIME World Tour 08 can be found here, with a mid-May - June North American tour to be announced shortly!

There's still hope.

Does Simon Drake do magic tricks between songs on this one too?

Why is it the only metal band to get a link is Maiden. They are a solid band, but come on. How about greenlighting just one of the Amon Amarth links I submit.

/Viking metal ftw???

I am so farking stoked for this show. I've got floors for Toronto.
I'm getting an Old Fokker shirt made:

Can't wait for the show at ACC. Show number 7 for me. Here's my schedule for that weekend.
Friday, March 14: Steak and BJ Day
Saturday, March 15: My 32nd Birthday
Sunday, March 16: Iron Maiden at the ACC
Monday, March 17: St. Patty's Day

Does it get any better????? I assume that my wife will get me the DVD for my birthday...It's been a tough wait thus far.

Just 1-clicked it over at Amazon. Had no idea this was finally coming out on DVD.

Can't. Farking. Wait. Same as everyone else in here, remember the Powerslave show like it was yesterday, wore out the vinyl and the cassette - my 5 year old loves listening to the CD while taking batting practice in the basement - guess we'll be pissing off the neighbors when it's warm enough to practice outside.... We're both going to love the DVD!

That's not true. Axl Rose is good for a link or two.

Saw the 'Piece of Mind' and 'Powerslave' tours.

//Opening acts were Fastway and Coney Hatch. Twisted Sister was the opener for the second. :/

Thought I read on the Maiden site that they're going to add more North American dates later in the year? I'm rotted that I can't make T'ronto.

Thats right any headline referencing Chinese Demoncracy is auto greenlit. How about some buckethead or the already mentioned amon amarth. I will continue to submit the same soothsayer clip by buckethead until it is used.

/why would you want to watch women press clothes on stage (ironing maidens)

I spent an entire DAY memorizing Rime of the Ancient Mariner when I was 17. Since when does any 17 year old spend an entire day on something that has nothing to do without the possibility of getting some stank on the hangdown?

When I worked for the carnival running the Gravitron, it was common for us to give riders a ride equal to the length of the song. When we had bratty kids, we would play ROTAM from Powerslave and make em ride till it was over.... >:-)

The best damn live album ever.

I wish I had the money to go see them on the 19th. :(
