Michael Jackson is not a kid toucher. He made Thriller, folks.

Thriller.

I admit the album was great (except for the title song), but the interview he gave for the announcement of the anniversary album...well, he's just a freak now. I miss the "PYT" Jackson.

Is it necessary to put this on both the Music and Showbiz tabs?

I'm not sure anyone can dispute the greatness of the Thriller album. Michael was a genius and was amazingly talented. But he sure ended up as one farked up human being.

Maybe he molested those kids, maybe he didn't. I don't think we'll ever know.

He may be a pederast, he may not be. I can't say for sure. What I do know is that if I wouldn't leave my son or daughter alone with the man for any length of time.

when your band plays "Billie Jean", teh biatches go crazy

TommyymmoT [TotalFark] 2008-02-12 03:38:49 AM
When that over rated piece of crap first came out, it was so overplayed, that I was glad I didn't own a gun, or I would have shot every radio and TV set in sight.

It's one of the most gay, homoerotic (yes, I know, redundant) thing ever put on audio, or video tape.

Broke Back Mountain doesn't even come close to "Thriller".

That freak didn't create it, he was just featured in it.

I once saw a band perform "Mister Greenjeans Is Not My Lover".

You know.... I'm kind of glad he turned himself into a walking freak show because it allows me to watch the video for Thriller and still enjoy it. Somehow, in my mind, the Michael Jackson who's a child molester is the freaky white guy without a nose while the black man in Thriller is just a talented musician.

Yes, the most over-rated album ever. Wasn't even that great back in the day.

You don't have to be a homophobe to know that.

correct me if I'm wrong--i feel like I am

while this was the best selling album of all time, wasn't Dark Side of the Moon on billboards top 10 for like 14 years?

its some INSANE statistic.

how were we going to take over the world with a white michael jackson anyway?

I wouldn't leave anyone alone with him.

I remember when my neighbors would babysit me around 1984-85. They had the making of the video for Thriller on vhs. I swear I watched it every time I was their house...bought them a good half an hour/hour cuz I was glued to the tv. haha.

I love the old stuff. I even liked some of the stuff when he was white...shame bout that cat.

I dunno... isn't this a pretty good rule of thumb for any dude you don't know, though?

I must have drunk the Thriller Kool-Aid, because I never really believed that he was a child molester. He's definitely weirder than shiat and did some inappropriate things, though.

Dark Side was on the chart for over 700 weeks and continues to re-emerge on it every single time the album is released in a new format [i.e. CD, iTunes, etc.]

Pretty impressive, I'd say.

WFern 2008-02-12 04:49:50 AM
To paraphrase Chris Rock, you know how folks used to argue over who was better: Michael Jackson or Prince? Prince won.

On talent alone, I'll take Little Red Corvette over Thriller on any given occasion.

For what it's worth, I believe he was quoting Dave Chappelle, which is followed by the ever-classic:

"Would you allow your child to stay with him?"

"F--- no!"

Ah yes, back when Michael was blackish, and had loads of talents supported by some amazing producers.

Truly classic album, wonder how you manage to go from there, to becoming a deranged bleached kiddy-fiddler.

Cab i just say that the remixes by Kanye Douche and Will (dick he is) I am are absolutely awful. A complete rape of perfectly good songs with rappers blurting nonsense through continuous samples.

Rap really is like house music in europe:

1.sample famous hit
2.talk nonsense throughout sample, adding lots of 'bling' and 'biatches'to the corus
3. ....
4.PROFIT!

Cornwell: wonder how you manage to go from there, to becoming a deranged bleached kiddy-fiddler

Well, let's see...having an overbearing and abusive father who pushes you and your siblings into fame by forcing you to perform, depriving you of a normal childhood

Becoming a billionaire when you're a young adult, so you never learn how to be independent. You never learn how to take responsibility for your actions because someone else is always around to clean up your mess. You learn to resolve problems by throwing money away. You never actually learn maturity.

Furthermore, people treat you with deference and near-worship. Your sense of reality becomes completely distorted.

This guy has no idea, absolutely no frame of reference, of what a life like you and I have is like. He's never had a job, never paid bills, never had to budget, or worry about money. He's pretty much completely divorced from reality as we know it. I'm sure there's also some mental illness of some kind involved here.

Look what he's done to his appearance. That's not the sign of a sane human being.

Does that absolve him from things he's done? No. But I'm not sure he molested any kids. He's bizarre and childlike enough for me to conceive that he could be in a bed with children and not have anything happen. He seems asexual. But because he's such an eccentric person, people are likely to believe anything.

Well, plus, it's just creepy to have an adult sleep in the same bed with children he's not related to.

Deeda Na!

that is how the vocals to the song Thriller sound to me, even after all these years. Shiat record. Some kind of national retardo hysteria made that thing a mega hit. People should be ashamed.

But back in the day, I'll bet he got a lot of tail.

Thriller is a great album, hard to believe it's 25 years old, damn I'm getting old. I can remember it and Purple Rain being huge and having arguments with my friends over who was weirder, Michael Jackson or Prince, just like Chris Rock talked about. Today there's no argument.

I listening to Thriller a couple of months ago, seeing as how I loved it as a kid. It just didn't sound right without the "click, pause" of the 8-track as it skipped tracks during PYT.

Admit it, you played air guitar to the guitar solo in Beat It.

/Ugh, who would have known what PYT really meant back then.

I thought in 1997, it was unanimously decided that Michael Jackson and Diana Ross were the same person?

So, therefore, I say, Mrs. Ross... You're making me feel old... I was 8 when that came out.

I first heard "Thriller" on cassette in my friend's honest-to-Burt Reynolds, screaming-chicken, black-and-gold Trans Am.

Shoot, I'm feeling so nostalgic, I may put on some Zubas and Spicoli shoes. (Can't rock the Flock of Seagulls 'do, though. Not enough hair.)

I have owned somewhere between 1000 and 1200 albums in my life, so far. No Michael Jackson release has ever been one of those.

Having said that...there must be something to that album, even if it doesn't appeal to me. A whole lot of people really farking love it.

/won't be buying the remaster
//but if you do, i hope you enjoy it

NeuroticRocker: while this was the best selling album of all time, wasn't Dark Side of the Moon on billboards top 10 for like 14 years?

A nitpick: "Dark Side" was on Billboard's Album chart for about 14 years, but not in the "top 10." The album chart is a generous 200 records deep, so it just takes good, steady sales to hang in there. That isn't to diminish "Dark Sides" achievement -- actually, it didn't fall off the chart because sales declined. In 1988, Billboard reconfigured their charts and moved records like "Dark Side" into the "Pop Catalog" chart, reserving the main album chart for more current releases. I'm reasonably certain that, but for that change, "Dark Side"'s sales would have kept it in the top 200 albums continuously to the present day.

Also, I believe that domestically, The Eagles first Greatest Hits album has sold more copies than "Thriller." Michael gets the nod for album sales worldwide, but in the U.S., the Eagles overtook him a few years ago. Think about it -- even today, every college kid has The Eagles Greatest Hits '71-'75, but how many of them have a copy of "Thriller"?
