I was disabled for three months due to a anxiety disorder. My disablity benefit was $833 a week ($3332 a month) based on my $65,000 a year income. Disablity pays a lot more, considering it's money you pay yourself in SDI withholding.

That being said, she's STILL a blithering moron.

The people who leased her the car DID know she couldn't make the payments, and they leased it to her anyway, and THEY have no right to complain just because she's not making the payments. They knew she wouldn't, and she isn't. Seems like they're getting exactly what they were looking for.

i've been racing cars for almost 10 years (just as a hobby), and i've taken numerous different classes and race-track courses. i've also had the pleasure of driving an M6, 2007 coupe to be exact (though i could NEVER afford one), and you're pretty much on target. that thing is a beast and a half, and although it has more manners than say, a Z06 or a Viper, it's also less refined than an CLK55.

basically, while anyone could do just fine driving it around town, someone who has no idea what the limits of a car like that are could find themselves wrapped around a tree pretty easily. good thing that nearly everyone i see driving that kinda ride looks to be either too old or too young and stupid (daddy's money/drug monney?? nahhhh) to drive it to it's potential. shame.

as for the story? i'm not here to judge, so i'll just give a big Derp to everyone involved.

So, I actually bought a new car from BMW of Fremont back in November (Don't hate me, I'm actually a pretty nice guy).

I gotta say their Sales folks (at least Cathe, who I dealt with) rocked, but the finance guys I worked with just flat out sucked.

I spent 3 f-ing hours at the goddamn dealership picking up my car because the moron doing my paperwork couldn't get it right (I had outside financing), "forgot" about my down payment, AND he kept trying to hard sell me on an extended warranty. It was bad enough that I almost walked.

It is called an "external locus of control". Viv does not believe that she has any control over her own life. Life just sort of happens to Viv. Her disability may be incapacitating, but if she has the ability to jaunt on down to the local BMW dealership on a lark, perhaps there is some sort of service she could provide for the rest of society. Unfortunately Viv has been taught that she can make a good enough living by collecting a check from the government without having to work for it.
She gets what she has for free and naturally wants more.
As much as the rest of us complain and moan about people like Viv, there will always be people like her out there as long as we make it profitable to be unemployed.

What difference does it make what the application said her income was?

If it said she made $2500 per month or $10,000 per month, she knew she couldn't afford the $1300 payment that she's complaining about!
