Now seating party of two for the Failbus. You'll be seated directly behind Mr. Bonaducci and Mr. Hasselhoff.

A song so bad it received no radio airplay? I'm a sucker for punishment. Hit me up.

I thought Timbaland quit or was going to quit the music buisness?

Gunny Highway 2008-02-11 03:25:36 PM
From the looks of the article he will be working with neither. Thank you Timberland.

Timbaland has become the Dr. Dre/Rza of pop-music. He's a great producer, but why is he always working with the pop tarts, it's part of the reason hip-hop is dead. The genre went to one based on originality to one based on catchy hooks and mainstream rhymes.

I glad you think just because a person doesn't like a certain genre of music, they don't know anything about it. If you think music can only be appreciated by knowing the historical/cultural aspects, then you fail at the whole concept of music. The only reason you need to like/hate any type of music is personal preference.

Considering your profile states "I'll listen to whatever" reinforces my prior statement.

I have never, that I can recall, heard Lindsay Lohan or Paris Hilton sing. I never intend to, either: I prefer that my ears *not* bleed, thank you.

Why do these two even have *any* sort of career anyway?

Timbaland? Isn't that a brand of hiking boots?

Timberland has so many songs on the radio right now it's stupid. That rock ballad, 2 by Nelly Furtado, like 3 Justin Timberlake songs, plus that mash-up he did with the 'push-it' beat. That's just the newer stuff, sometimes they go back and play older Timberlake or Missy Elliot and the like. That's like almost 20% of all air time being songs he's produced.

I bet he could make either a top 10 album with at least 2 #1 singles. I'm by no means a fan and I don't own even 1 of his albums but he is the most talented producer out right now simply because he can make anyone sound good -- even those trashy whores.

Oh no man, that wasn't my point at ALL. I just said that because anytime I posted something on hip-hop here, the response form non hip-hop fans is usually, "what are you sayin, ALL hip-hop sucks, it's just stupid gangsta garbage!" If you can get beyond that, and appreciate hip-hop as a genre, and not stereotype it as just one thing, then I don't mind a response at all. I've just been on fark way too long, so I just preemptively wrote that to shut the assholes up. You don't seem like one, so I'll actually listen to what you have to say.

This hip-hop garbage isn't going away any time soon, is it?
Kanye West, P shiatty, et al, appeared when a giant rectal vortex of suckage opened up and deposited their no-talent stool-sample manifestations upon the world. And the arrogance of these farktards is unbelievable.

Eh, to me an intelligent post has nothing to do with spelling fark ups, and more to do with the content of your post. Would you rather me be one of those assholes who has another post correcting their last one? fark that, let's stick to the conversation at hand. Grammar Nazis are one of the worst parts of fark.

Hip hop is more about what isn't on the radio than what is.

You a Wu fan??? If so, their still is some artists you might enjoy who are out right now. I'd point you to Living Legends, Andre Nickatina, Slug, Jedi Mind Tricks, Immortal Technique, Talib Kweli, and so many others in the underground scene. Kanye tries to come across like he's part of that scene, but he's more mainstream garbage, and P Diddy has always represented hip-pop (hell, he's one of the reasons hip-hop fell off, starting in the late 90s). Don't even get me started on Soulja Boys whack ass, he represents all the stereotypical negative aspects of hip hop today.

hitmanric 2008-02-11 05:36:35 PM
Funny thing is that I'm not really a fan of any genre. Sure some stuff I like more than others. But there's good and bad in all music. I understand where you come from with all the rap sux,hip hop sux, nickelback sux crowd. It just seemed you were assuming that all farkers are elitist music snobs (even though they are the most vocal).

Lohan's last album was actually good. She's a much better recording artist than Paris.
I'm looking forward to how her life experiences influence this next one, as she does
a good deal of her own songwriting, believe it or not.

Paris' music isn't bad tho...it's better than, say, Ashlee Simpson.

hitmanric 2008-02-11 05:38:48 PM
BTW....if this is a music thread, then where's Doc? At least then I usually have someone who agrees with me.

Soooooo...

Two people who don't really have any business in the music business tried to get close to the producer level 'flavor-of-the-month' to turn them into something bearable?

If he has a brain, and I can only assume he does, he will humor them both for about two minutes, then run like hell.

Just get it over with.

To be fair, Lindsay Lohan did have a Top Ten hit called "Ultimate You" about three years ago or so.
