Hey guys, I don't know if you realize this, but there is a war going on. You can either spend time looking at stupid pictures or spend time trying to fight for our freedoms from terrorists. how does the horse not get shredded to pieces. i mean, when startled, say by the phone ringing, my cat's claws come out even if she's sitting in my lap. If they declawed that lion, they deserve to be horse whipped.

I doubt it. The jaws are still strong enough to crack bone and the muscle density is still several times higher than human. Imagine a 300 pound guy who is 3-5 times stronger than he should be open-palm smacking you upside the head and that's about what a declawed lion would probably feel like. A lot more people might survive the encounter, though. Most animals don't spend a lot of time and effort making sure every single thing they get in a fight with dies. If you survived the first few hits the lion would probably figure it had made it's point and wander off. Unlike a regular lion who would gut a human with one swipe then look at it quizzically like, "Hey...why aren't you moving? I didn't hit you that hard."
