I can understand why they sent police to his house to find out what was going on and arrest him for pointing a gun at an officer. However, once they found out that it was a plastic bottle, its pretty damn rediculouse to charge and arrest him.

/the really sad thing is that this was a relatively good outcome considering the likely hood that they would have just beat the crap out of him for "hiding the real gun."

Its no different from buying a toy gun and holding up a store with it, except in this instance the fake gun was pointed at a officer intentionally. What were you expectin, the cops to have a laugh at it when they figured out it was a bottle?
