I can't believe this comment pissed me off as much as it did.

Students hate the guy at first, they trash his car, he's ready to quit, theres a narrowly averted fight, his girlfriend thinks he's nuts, he experiences self-doubt, then he decides enough is enough, he gets tough, maybe he's not so bad, the one kid is a gifted athelete, the big dumb lookin kid learns to read, a child protege is in their midst the whole time but was too embarassed to admit his love for poetry 'cause it's just like rap, he appeals to them to use their minds, they pull together, the real bad kid gets stood up to by the other kids and he says screw this shiat, I'm outta here, but the principal is too smart for him and follows him home where he's actually the man of the house and has to watch over his little sister 'cause momma ditched out on 'em, the tough kid is just misunderstood and he comes back and promises to be cool and saves the principle from gtetting hurt in an industrial accident, then the whole school finally gets national recognition for their excellence and are sponsored to attend a scholastic merit awards ceremony in Washington, and on the way there, the plane goes down in fog and all is lost, there are no survivors. But the principle was there the day before and blames himself, but accepts the award anyway, holds it aloft and says "We did it, guys." And then he goes home and lives happily ever after, because he's salaried he doesn't have to finish the remainder of the year and goes to St. Thomas and has a real nice time.

"Military training" is a bullshiat term. Did you know the military trains secretaries? Oh, we call them "Yeomen" (or now, "Personnel Specialists") and some services require them to shoot icky rifles once a year, but they're still in the military getting "military training." Didn't you people see I'm Gonna Get You Sucka? "Military training" != "molded into a badass killing machine."

Wonder which military he was trained in? I met some of the Israeli army guys in Haifa, back in the Gulf War.

Usually, when soldiers meet like that we'll exchange hats or something for souvenirs, but these guys wanted to trade their hats for electronics and Walkmans.

The Israeli military is one of the most battle hardened on the planet, and they know it, apparently.
