He was hot in the commando role with the beard and all that. Asking and telling is okay in the British armed forces now as long as you are dignified about it, sir.

Right, because their parents and community would be really accepting about that 50-60 years ago.

(Though seriously, it's nice of you to be cool with people doing something about their gender dysphoria)

Yeah, well, nothing sucks worse than being born wrong.
That's like God not creating you right.

And that get's us into paradox, because God is infallable, so he had to have created you right.
So if you were born wrong, it was by choice right?

considering this woman spent 13 years of her life as a commando, which is 14 more than most of you ITG's have spent even looking a firearm, much less operating one, I have but one thing to say about Miss McPherson

On a very literal level, she -had- more balls than any one of you will ever have.

If it does happen less, is is because women in general are more welcoming than men to new members of the group?.

No, I have heard that it's about the same number. It just gets reported less because trans men are less "interesting" (in the daily mail and pornography sense of the word) to the media, apparently.

People wouldn't choose not to transition because they think other people won't be welcoming, or nobody would do it at all.

With a last name of McPherson, he never was.

As for the use of the word "uncanny," the pic was very un-uncanny wchich would seem to be the same as canny, but it's not canny either. Mundane, banal, unsurprising -- these are all adjectives that would have been accurate, but uncanny? The pic is uncanny only in the sense that the subject is sitting on a chair and not on the can; thus the pic is neither uncanny or canny.

Furthermpore, this greenlit headline is prime proof of why Fark mods should have term limits.

I've heard about this too. When a man dresses up like a woman its like, "Oh my god lets get a picture of this freak of nature because people love looking a men in dresses!" While women who dress like men are significantly less interesting to the newspaper buying public. You see women "trying to be men" all the time, though most of them aren't actually on the T. So its more covert then an old guy running around in a skirt.

I, on the other hand, love "self made men" as it were. They're most sexy, though their exaggerated masculinity can get on your nerves after a while. Personally I see gender as not being set in stone and you are whatever you feel you are. If you don't feel like a "woman" that also doesn't mean you have to act like a stereotypical "man" just to feel more like a "man", you just act how you normally would. Unfortunately, our society doesn't accept people who act outside of their designated gender roles so many people feel pressured into "passing" as their preferred gender in public, which means a lot of posturing and money.

Its an issue made more complicated than it has to be.

Hell, if someone could guarantee me unequivocally that I would be capable of filling out this outfit in a totally convincing manner, I'd change in a heartbeat and have this stupidest grin imaginable on my face every morning. Of course, I'd be broke from my clothes bill.

That'd be a barrel of fun...could you imagine what life could be like knowing what you know now and looking like this?

nashBridges: It's no big deal to me if you want to live as a woman, but know that other people will notice the same things I do. That's not a shortcoming on their part if they accept you. It's also not a shortcoming on their part if they notice the obvious. It just is.
