Kid did good. Even when you do know exactly why you believe in something, it can be hard to find the right words when somebody is putting you on the spot, or in this case flat out badgering you.

I don't feel that the questioner was being cynical or trying to embarrass anybody. He's just posing pretty challenging questions that this guy just knocks down.

Because, if you watch the video and listen to his tone of voice, he gets more and more pleasantly surprised the more he hears the kid (Derek) talk. You'll notice that his rapid-fire questioning slows down, the more Derek answers them. By the end of the conversation, they're agreeing with each other.

I think the interviewer went in with the intention of exposing the super-emotional, factually devoid support of Obamaphiles - and then was shocked by how well-informed this kid seemed to be, and how well he measured his arguments. Completely off the cuff.

It is just very refreshing that as a young person, he is so well-informed. I would rather hear from someone like him who has something intelligent to say, than some movie star who endorses a candidate.

Its got to be a viral. The interviewer creates tension by constant interruptions of a subject who is doing just fine. The subject never gets pissed at the hostile/rude interviewer. Having recorded a few thousand interviews for national TV, this doesn't pass the smell test. Plus, from an interaction I had with the comments for the video, someone outs him:

I think the headline misleads all of us in to thinking about what this guy's intentions were.

He has three videos that he posted and are all from the same day. He walked around and just randomly picked out people to interview.

He interviews several Hillary supporters in his other two videos and catches them not knowing what is going on.

This video seems to be the only one where he interviewed an Obama supporter (I haven't watched all 3 from end to end).

Of course, it is debatable on whether or not he interviewed other Obama supporters that did not respond this well...so maybe some bias is shown there. But, this doesn't seem to be something the Obama campaign put out there as specific propaganda.

He seems to be playing the same game with everybody and it is just the Obama supporter that wins.

I hope the length of the video doesn't discourage people from listening all the way through. He just gets better and better. And, I am not an Obama fan. Just damn smart, well spoken kid that made me proud!

Check out other videos - there are a bunch of them. The only thing I got from this is what I already knew: most Americans are partisan thugs with as much actual knowledge as your average US 8th grader.

The Obama kid was quite impressive, though.

And if he is an actor, well, gee, I wonder what he was doing in Hollywood? So weird, that. And I'd bet you could find a few other actors in that bunch of videos, too.
