I'm solidly behind Obama, but Clinton Campaigners =/= Clinton.

Smear article

BobtheFascist 2008-02-08 11:23:26 AM
In their defense, they are working for a candidate that has promised to take care of everyone. It only makes sense they'd expect others to take care of their mess too.

No, a representative of an organization is responsible because they represent said organization in their acts. They were there on Clinton's behalf, she is responsible for their acts.

It's like saying after she were elected "too be fair, it was the Clinton administration that did such and such, not Hillary herself".

/Responsibility, it's a two way street.

This seems to be a rather common theme among Clinton partisans in my experience to date. I have yet to meet a single Clinton partisan who was not a self-centered and strident ass clown.

And by Clinton partisan I mean people who are actual campaign volunteers/workers.

Actually, my personal anecdotes are pretty similar to yours. But my anecdotes aren't the subject of newspaper articles.

oldebayer: So, um, how do you feel about Abu Ghraib?

Not sure what you are asking specifically.

My point is that the people in an organization represent the organization by their acts. If this is the type of people in the organization, then the management isn't doing it's job. If the management isn't capable of doing it's job, then you can trace that up through the organization as systematic.

This is the Clinton organization it seems.

/Personally, I have no feelings on her.
//If your organization, representatives specifically sent somewhere represent you, do so badly, it is your organization's responsibility, and by extension yours.
///It is in her best interest to ensure her people represent her well. If they don't it is by extension a comment on her.

Well dammit, they should be. I wonder how many people who have voted for Hillary, or are thinking of voting for Hillary, have actually had to spend 5 minutes with one of her partisans?

I had one lady tell me that my mother would be ashamed of me for supporting Obama. And how dare I support a candidate who wants us to revert back to the age of back alley abortions.

I had no response for her... because how do you respond to that much crazy all in one person?

Code_Archeologist: Well dammit, they should be. I wonder how many people who have voted for Hillary, or are thinking of voting for Hillary, have actually had to spend 5 minutes with one of her partisans?

Given that the last anti-Obama stories have been attacking his backers as bing 'cultish'. It would be hypocritical to attack Hillary through her campaigners.

Every single candidate has stupid followers. If you want politics to be more civil, stick to criticizing policy.

I support Obama and I'm taking the high road on this.

Code_Archeologist [TotalFark] 2008-02-08 12:56:18 PM

I understand that... and I support Obama too and try to stay dispassionate in my support. But it is getting harder to not explode at Clinton partisans and tell them to go DIAF.

shooboxx77 2008-02-08 01:05:30 PM
Having been volunteering for one of the presidential campaign for a few months, here is my take on this:

As a volunteer/campaign worker, you are the face of the campaign. Logically, of course the workers/volunteers =/= the candidate, BUT most people who you interact with will base some or all of their opinion of a candidate based on those who represent the candidate. I have to remember to always be positive when wearing my campaign button and other gear. When people engage me in conversation that takes on a negative tone, I smile and try to direct the conversation towards a different topic (even though I would love to engage in a lively debate). So, while this story may be meaningless for those of us who follow the news, care about policy and such, for some people it will be representative of the candidate. This sort of thing reinforces some long standing ideas about Clinton - when you up a leave a campaign office without bothering to clean up or pay rent, your campaign comes off as inconsiderate and uncaring.

Sorry but this is standard for all campaigns. When a bid for office ends, whoever is still owed money gets screwed over.

The clintons, and their supporters do no appear to be real high up on the brimming with integrity scale.

WOW this early and we already have a B-B-Bush! Blame? Why is it so hard to keep the Clinton supporters on a theme other than blaming Bush? Or even any accountability? I guess the supporters learn their actions from the top.

// Oh ya..... Bush is not running for those who might not have realized that.
