Rock/metal content: 0

Christopher Lee content: Well, he makes -everything- cool, but it still manages to somehow suck even with him.

Is this from the album "Masterpieces for the Tone Deaf" ??

Wow, lots of people here have no idea what metal is.. but subby is not one of them. If only for Luca Turilli, Rhapsody(of fire) is one of the greatest current power metal bands. Awesome post subby.

What unadulterated crap. Is this for the next Lion King movie or something?

Jesus tap-dancing Christ, that was horrible. How the hell did this get a green light? Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to put on something actually metal to get the fail off of my computer....

Rhapsody (of Fire) is a great power metal band. Admittedly, Luca Turilli is the best part of the band, but still. And yes, there're a lot better power metal bands out there (Blind Guardian, Sonata Arctica, Elvenking and HammerFall to name a few).

Here's my take on the song, not that it matters:

Metal? Yes, it was very similar in style to most of the European metal I've heard, but without palm muting and solos, it's really crappy.

Singing? Both are decent singers, but their voices do not sound good together. Saruman needed a more dramatic bit to sing. He has a very powerful voice which went to waste on this song.

Actual song? Like Saruman's voice (I'm too lazy to look up his real name), most of the instruments went to waste when they could have been used to evoke much more emotion. It wouldn't be an issue if it weren't for the fact that the actual singer looked like he put his entire soul into every word. It was also very repetitive at the end. I think the song had a lot of potential but ended up being very bland.

Do I have any credentials with which to judge this? Nah. People who didn't like this will probably agree with me, people who did won't. This is just what I think, and I think they are valid points.

Ok, I guess I am out of it. I never heard the term Dragon Metal before now. What defines it? Fantasy imagery? I did a quick Wiki and google search. I only heard what sounds like power metal.

How can it be any form of metal without distorted power chords? Or at least electric guitars.

Power metal, dragon metal? How many ways can you spell shiat?

That's who I thought it was at first too.

This version is even better, especially if you consider that this was played on a German "Volksmusik" (our version of sappy modern country -- not that the traditional stuff is any better) program.

On the other hand, I quite like Rhapsody. Yes, they're very, very melodramatic, but that can be a lot of fun, too. Being Italian, it's not like they can help being a wee bit operatic. Other songs actually do feature more elaborate guitar work, although if you're looking for death metal shredding, viking growling or even a good old-fashioned Maiden gallop, you're looking at the wrong band.

Of course they're not as good as Nanowar (of Steel), but who is?

The mouth breathers that fark got to approve links for the music section will never stop amazing me with their complete and total lack of understanding about anything related to music.

This (new window) is LOTR related, Fantasy Metal and true win.

I thought Leland Sklar was going to be in the video or something, but they actually did get Christopher Lee.
