I should confess, that despite my disdain for them headlining I have seen Metallica in concert. The night before I left to go see Phish play at Big Cypress, a bunch of us went and saw Metallica, Kid Rock and Sevendust in Miami. Looking back, I can only wonder what the people around us thought about the tye dye wearing hippies down in the mosh pit.

Lez Zeppelin is the shiat - they have gone out of their way to be the BEST tribute band to LZ bar none, male or female.

They are constantly on tour and if you check out their website, you'll read how their lead guitarist was in England last year for LZ's reunion concert at O2!

Led Zeppelin, BTW, sounds better on their CDs than what they sounded like onstage - ^--- has the boogleg...

i must say, i was fooled when i first read the lineup. having seen robert plant at the top of the list and then seeing LEZ ZEPPELIN near the bottom, i thought they were trying to pull a fast one and slip them in just for kicks and to see if anyone would notice. but then i read it again and was sad :(

metallica is an odd choice, but if they do it right, they can make it a great show like tool did last year. some of their songs can be made bonnaroo-appropriate, like "nothing else matters" "one" and im sure a lot more.

Someone in the biz told me Led Zepplin was playing that fest and I said "What the fark? How did they pull THAT off?" LEZ Zepplin makes much more sense now. I've seen them play by the way, and it's definitely worth a watch. Their drummer is Bonham reincarnated as a lesbian. Seriously, she's on point.

As far as Bonnaroo goes, all I know is an ex gf of mine said "My new boyfriend took me to it and we did SOOOOOOOOOOO much X!!!!" I'm glad that pill poppin' redneck ex-cheerleader isn't around in my life anymore. Nothing against the festival,; I'm just too old to stomp around in the mud with a bunch of pilled out kids.
