It's music for teenage girls. Who cares what she says to better appeal to them or who actually writes the songs? It's like complaining when the Backstreet Boys say in Teen Pop magazine how much their fans mean to them when you know they really don't give a shiat.

I remember years ago, when Avril was still riding the "punk" wave, I went into Hot Topic to by a gift for my nephew. I saw some 12 year old girl grab a Sex Pistols t-shirt and went up to her Mom, asking to buy it. Her Mom asked if she knew who the Pistols were and the girl simply said, "No, but Avril talks about them so they're cool!". Tears fell from Heaven as Jesus wept.

While I'd still hit it, the fact is she's a poseur punk, someone who is just playing the image because she thinks it makes her look cool. Much the same way that Gwen Stefani pretended to be retro hip until she got big, then jumped on the whole "pop princess, designers only" bandwagon.

She's admitted long ago that she's mostly a girly-girl. She got lucky and claimed herself god of the punk style, and she did it remarkably well. She's fkng HOT in my opinion. Even in a bikini she's still got a perfect body..


It's to bad though that I've read a few interviews and found that she's a conceited biatch..

Unless I'm missing something, and I probably am, I've always imagined that when Avril says she is 'punk' it is in a 'punk-ass skater douchebag' sort of way rather than in the way that anyone over 30 might think about it. This girl is too vapid to have ever even listened to anyone that was actually punk, and probably couldn't name a traditionally 'punk' group if she was dangling by her heels over piranhas.

How to determine how "real" she is:

First step: Watch her videos (early ones work well).

Second: Watch her hands as she "plays" the guitar.

Third: Have a "real" guitarist copy her hand movements. Then laugh at how awful it sounds.

The only instrument she plays is the skin flute.

Also, Sum 41 sucks so bad, they make Yanni and Rick Roll look like the Ramones and Sex Pistols.
