I agree. I never drink before 8.

It's too early in the morning.

Meh. Sometimes you just need to "take the edge off".

"You've got to ask yourself the question, 'how long do people want to drink for?'," he said.

About 52 hours usually does it.

52 hours a day? That's a bit much, even for me. I usually stop around 44 hours.

Nothing worse than starting drinking at about 10 am(when the liquor store opens), and then eventually you get to the pub and then the night comes and to another bar you go and find yourself in a puddle of your own drool the next morning.

/2 day hangovers suck.
//But your drinking supports the government with the liquor taxes.
///Stop drinking and watch the government collapse in mere minutes.

Every time you hear someone say that the government should "do something," you should slap the shiat out of them before picking their pocket. Not because you're angry, but only to show them the short version of what's really going to happen if the government intervenes.

Dudes, you have a 5 am license. What kind of person hangs out at bars until 5 am? Its the binge drinkers and only the binge drinkers.

I'm sure the dress code will do wonders for the problem.

The years I closed bars every night were the years I was regularly and steadily drinking, not binge drinking. Hanging out at bars till closing (and then off to after-hours till sunrise) was more about a certain social lifestyle than just getting drunk. In fact when you drink that regularly you never really get very drunk.

It's the friggin' Normanby Hotel FFS - they attracted the drunken-rugby-yoof crowd after their renovation four or so years ago (see also the Regatta).

I used to live ten metres down the road from the Normanby back in 2000/2001 ; back then it was a huge dingy old pub with wires and paint falling off the ceilings, but it was decent. Now it's just shiat.

Or you're just never sober enough to appreciate the difference.
