Radiohead - Nobody Does It Better

Isn't it called The Spy Who Loved Me?

jestme: Isn't it called The Spy Who Loved Me?

That was the name of the Bond film (and yeah, they worked it into the lyrics), but the Carly song was titled NDIB. One of her few hits she didn't write herself. Which means Radiohead sang a Marvin Hamlisch/Carole Bayer Sager tune.

Damn, the song has its own Wikipedia page (pops). "Thom Yorke of Radiohead fame is even heard to claim, in a bootleg recording of a live performance in a TV show (1995), that this is the 'sexiest song that was ever written.'"

I didn't realize that was from a bond film (not much of a fan), but this recording has been around for many years.

Welcome to a decade ago. Either way, if it's getting a greenlight, more power to you.

Does anyone remember Faster Pussycat? What a horrible band. They did a Carly Simon cover about 17 years ago.

I came in here to say this.

There's a much better quality/more in tune version on "Towering Above the Rest" (the RH bootleg collection). Still, it's cool to actually see it.

On the surface it sounds like a strange idea. But then again, Judas Priest covered a Joan Baez tune in 1977.

Meh. It was alright...

They used to cover Rhinestone Cowboy.

Yea, I came here to say that Tellingthem, back when they were On a Friday, or for the Manic Hedgehog Demo.

Greatest version of that song ever. Johnny always makes those guitar solos work. Not a cover, but the one in "Yes I Am" still gets me.

Marco Benevento also does a pretty solid cover of this tune

I'm a Radiohead fan, and a Bond fan, but that song is just very wrong for them, IMO.

I admire the attempt! Gutsy, for sure. I say it's not bad at all.

It's good just to see Jonny playing a guitar.

how old is that?
