Farking spiders, man.

Heights.
Although I don't know that it's entirely irrational.

When i was a kid, i slept in a shoebox room cause my parents were poor, the bed would be against the wall, so i'd sleep against it, now i sleep on a full sized bed in the middle of the room (no walls) and i'm afraid of falling off the side of the bed in the middle of the night.... you never know whats down there!

I used to be afraid of heights, terrified of them. Until I got thrown off a 5 story tower. Much better with those now.

I actually don't think any of my fears are horribly irrational at this point.

Dummies. Not stupid people (well them too), but the puppets that ventriloquists use. Regular puppets, marionettes, Muppets, all fine. But the ventriloquists dummies freak me out, man.

Public speaking. Apparently I'm pretty good at keeping an audience's attention when I am forced to do it.

Leaving something unlocked. I lock my car twice before I walk inside and then once again remotely from me bedroom. I have also returned to my apartment before to check the lock while on my way somewhere.

I won't walk on a beach barefoot.

No idea where it came from, and it only started about 5 years ago. I'm scared to death to walk on a beach barefoot, and really freaked if I'm in sandals. I keep thinking I'm going to step on something sharp and cut my foot. Only matters til I get up to the water line on the sand tho. Then I'm ok.

blameitonchemo [TotalFark] 2008-02-02 11:50:22 PM
Well, it's not a fear but I get creeped out by white noise, artificial voices and things like that... My eyes start watering up for some reason but it's not crying. I can't explain it.

Kinda this. This is a huge reason why I sleep on a futon now. Also am still really afraid of clowns.

Morgellon's Disease or whatever the fark. If people keep posting bizarre threads about it (no pun intended), I'm afraid I'll somehow psych myself into it.

And cannibalism...it's a big dilemma for a vegetarian, let me tell you. You won't catch me anywhere near Donner Pass.

My fears are firmly grounded by fact.

HalonChilled 2008-02-02 11:51:28 PM
Getting stuck with needles in my veins. Although it'd not totally irrational, there were many incidents to reinforce that fear.

/not afraid of zombies attacking, that would be awesome.

I'd like to come back in here and say again that I am a farking baby when it comes to spiders. Normally me and spiders have an understanding, but sometimes, they get too close, and that's the last thing they ever do.

I honestly believe this is going to happen.

I really, really do.

You should really listen to the second song in my website link in profile, then. And the 3rd. This is not a plug, I just want to know if your eyes water.

Sharks, in all bodies of water. Even ponds and swimming pools. It's not immediate. Just something that comes over me and I MUST get out of there or I'll have a panic attack and be chewed to death or drown. I'm sure of it.

Oh...I do, trust me.

Tho last time I was at one, a few years ago, I caught a horseshoe crab that was rolling up to the beach. That was kinda cool.

You know the best part about escalators? They become stairs when they break down. So damn convenient.

... I second that. If I can feel it buzzing around my ears, I get absolutely paranoid as can be.

There are only two things I fear. One is death, the other is living forever.

I drink a lot.

Just thinking about it makes my eyes well up with tears.

I know, I should probably be pretty safe from this fate, but still...

I should insert the phrase "for about 4 months" in there. Sorry. He's buried here in Tyler, too. It's a marked grave.
