"Survivalism"

I should have listened to her
So hard to keep control
We kept on eating but
Our bloated belly's still not full
She gave us all she had but
We went and took some more
Can't seem to shut her legs
Our mother nature is a whore

I got my propaganda
I got revisionism
I got my violence
In hi-def ultra-realism
All a part of this great nation
I got my fist
I got my plan
I got survivalism

Hypnotic sound of sirens
Echoing through the street
The cocking of the rifles
The marching of the feet
You see your world on fire
Don't try to act surprised
We did just what you told us
Lost our faith along the way and found ourselves believing your lies

chorus

All bruised and broken, bleeding
She asked to take my hand
I turned, just keep on walking
But you'd do the same thing in the circumstance
I'm sure you'll understand

chorus

The NIN part in that makes me want to puke. Trent's spinning in his bed full of money.

I'm not huge on the mishmash of that, but from a production standpoint, it's pert near seamless... Either somebody had WAY too much idle time, or they had a collection of red book masters to work from...

Very cool!

As a NIN fan that's not very keen on NIN mash ups, sans totem, that friggan rocked! The whole thing was very cool. Is there a place to get an mp3 of that?

Tumunga 2008-02-02 02:29:46 PM
Boring. Thanks for wasting my time today.

/Well, I had nothing better to do.
//time to shop at the goodwill.

Papagolash, go to the DJ's homepage. It's about halfway down the page.

Holy crap.

I can respect the guy for making it all fit, but I can't say I like it.

I was able to listen to it simply because it was fascinating to hear how he made everything work together.

Very cool, it's just not really practical for listening other than for the novelty of showing off how good this dude is at chopping shiat up and putting back together.

Overall I say thumbs up, I just can't listen to it more than once per lifetime.

I've got about 1500 mashups, and I can tell you that it can be a perfectly valid art form as much as anything else. It's called collage. Marcel Duchamp, Pablo Picasso, John Cage, George Martin, Negativland, DJ Lobsterdust.

God can Rihanna have less talent? Its unbelievable that song is up for a grammy, its is farking horrible

So basically you are doing what people in gay clubs did in the 70s, just throwing a bunch of songs together except with less talent than those djs had?

eatin' fetus 2008-02-02 08:37:28 PM
Terrible, just ... awful. Ugh. Boring, repetitive, retarded.

Shiatty songs, shiatty concept, just all around mediocre crap.

And the mix sucks, by the way. Not even normalized. GTFO of here, seriously.

Also, don't ever trust anyone who uses the word "mash-up".

Ugh ... ::gives self-lobotomy::

Not to be pretentious ... but here's some REAL music for you simpletards. Maybe you'll learn something. Assholes.

That's exactly what I was saying.

drredhook 2008-02-03 05:38:25 AM
Pretty good. My biggest criticism of mash-ups is they so often put together songs that have nothing in common other than a beat or similar sound. My Girl/Superfreak was a nice combination thematically. And I love NIN but what the hell did that song have to do with anything else in the mix?
