More celebrities need to get this message.

Of course, OTOH, as much as conservatives flip at the leftist hollywood crowd and say they don't know anything about politics, the second one of those Hollywood people says he is a republican they jizz their pants and elect him to office.

Bill Frist 2008-02-01 09:08:05 PM
Maybe I should have submitted this as SHOWBIZ instead of politics...

Gavino 2008-02-01 09:14:24 PM
More importantly, can Chuck Norris punch himself in the face hard enough to hurt himself?

Bill Frist 2008-02-01 09:17:57 PM
So seriously, does everyone have a tough-guy endorser yet:

Obama: Hulk Hogan
Huckabee: Chuck Norris
Giuliania: John Voight
McCain: Around Schwarzenegger

Romeny: ?
Clinton: ?

benlonghair [TotalFark] 2008-02-01 09:20:58 PM
Um... knowing what I know about Mr Norris, wouldn't punching himself in the face create a black hole or something?

Bill Frist: Clinton: ? Rosie O'Donnall maybe.

willywanka 2008-02-01 09:21:17 PM
Gavino: More importantly, can Chuck Norris punch himself in the face hard enough to hurt himself?

definitely, but he'd recover in time to counter-strike himself with a barrage of pain in retaliation, and come out victorious and awesome-looking!

For Clinton, the toughest I saw was....Michael Douglas???
For Romney, ummmmmm.... Ricky Schroeder?

Bill Frist 2008-02-01 09:41:18 PM
I think Rosie is tougher than Michael Douglas.

+1 points for both of them. +1

JJ Money 2008-02-01 10:05:10 PM
Hillary Clinton's leather-faced robo-smile is all the tough guy she needs. She can kill by telekinesis.

JJ Money 2008-02-01 10:06:19 PM
Chuck Norris doesn't punch himself in the face. His fist bumps him.

Bill Frist 2008-02-01 10:07:01 PM
How about:

His fists french kiss his chin

JJ Money 2008-02-01 10:11:57 PM
Bill Frist: How about:

That's too aggressive. Chuck Norris feels no kiss from pain. He doesn't feel pain, but he's aware that something has touched him.

Bill Frist 2008-02-01 10:38:52 PM
I seriusly think Norris helped kill Hucakbee's campaign. He turned it into a joke (albeit somewhat popular joke for a few weeks)

So George won't endorse anyone because of his celebrity status but doesn't have a problem whoring himself out to the UN? Okaaay......

Bill Frist 2008-02-01 10:42:10 PM
He did endorse Obama, just didn't want to campaign.

Yeah, that's what I meant to type but the beer was saying otherwise....

Chuck Norris is another casualty of the campaign. Never again will the Conan lever be cool! Never!

Not that Huckabee needed much help. Nobody seriously considers the funny candidate.

I think that falls into the whole irresistible force vs. an immovable object paradox.

but, the question is: Who will get the coveted butt-chin endorsement?

Speaking of celebrity endorsements...

Black Eyed Peas release a song in tribute of Obama. Can't find full video yet and it's not on youtube but ABC has a few minutes of the music video up.

It wasn't trolling at all.

My point was that the right wing frequently criticizes celebrities for talking about politics.

However, they right wing seems to have no problem electing people from hollywood (Reagan, Schwarzenegger... the aborted fred thompson campaign, etc. )

There is no better candidate, period.

I still want to see Dwayne Johnson endorse him and say "Do You Smell What Barack is Cookin'?" because I'm that big of a nerd.

/voting Obama on Super Tuesday in CA along with about a dozen others I've managed to swing away from Hillary and probably McCain

I have to vote for Obama. C'mon, other states who matter in the primary elections that aren't Indiana - who doesn't matter for elections or much of anything else.

Because George Clooney is less credible than some slavering, foaming at the mouth, anonymous posters on Fark I am voting Republ...wait, that is wrong.

VTSquire 2008-02-02 01:37:12 AM
in 00 and 04, celebrities really did turn me off. But now, as I think about it and have actually gone out and gotten some experience in the field and lifestyle that is movie magic, I realize that celebrity endorsement is the complete opposite of what most people view it as.

Who knows how much any celebrity (that's you, Wil) does or do not know about politics? fark if I know. Celebs are people, too. But, they do essentially risk their careers. Just look at Tom Cruise's popularity ranking nowadays. He might be a nut, but he stuck up for what he believes at the risk of his career and that is a pretty respectable act if you ask me. A year ago, I detested the Sean Penns of the world, but now... hey, I might disagree and I think it would be fun to do a sit-down beer-drinking politics-discussing session for 9 hours straight only to play the ridicule game, but I'd respect their willingness to stand up for what they believe in.

Clooney is apparently doing what he thinks is best for the country in the long run. I might disagree with him on Obama, but I'll drink to that. Bravo, good man. I just wish he was here drinkin with me so that at the end of the day, I could have a few laughs and we could at least agree that it's cool to share views and opinions, at least amongst ourselves.

George Clooney is one of the smartest men in Hollywood. Seriously. Bear in mind that George Clooney Sr. is himself a politician and a respected figure. Bear in mind also that George Clooney Jr. has spent most of his life and fortune helping people.

He's not an empty head at all.

I heard that it is. Somebody merely needs to say "I'm voting for a Democratic candidate" or "I'm voting for a Republican candidate" to get the required ballot.

If you're referring to Schwarzenegger, then you Fail, again.

The remaining 5 notable conservatives in Hollywood haven't been elected to anything.

Who do you pay to get these links greenlit?

The Democratic one is. The GOP one isn't. Basically, Independent and Decline to State voters can vote for a Dem, one of the third party guys (only one of the third parties is open IIRC. American Independent or something) or no one. GOPers can't vote for a Dem.

Superjoe 2008-02-02 02:41:17 AM
It's OK if they're a Republican. If it's a Democrat, supporting them just means your part of the liberal media.

Executive Monkey 2008-02-02 02:51:14 AM
What a paradox: if Chuck Norris punches his face, does the face or the fist get hurt?
