Fisk fisks the Egyptian publishing industry!

From Wiki:

The term Fisking, or to Fisk, is blogosphere slang describing detailed point-by-point criticism that highlights perceived errors, disputes the analysis of presented facts, or highlights other problems in a statement, article, or essay...Named after Robert Fisk, a British journalist who was a frequent (and deserving) early target of such treatment.

/interesting article - good find subby

I may be wrong, but I don't think Egypt has hotcakes. And if they did, wouldn't you want them cold or, at least, room temperature as Egypt being rather warm?

Does he salute Saddam's courage, his strength, his indefatigably?

Probably disinformation by Mossad to try to discredit the "liberal" media.

I, for one, would think that the best thing about a Robert Fisk book would be a Robert Fisk book not written by Robert Fisk.

I don't read Mark Steyn, and even if I never did, I still know that Mark Steyn > 13 year old girl slash fanfics about Spike and Angel romance > Robert Fisk.

Robert Fisk is one of the worst things to happen to "journalism" in the last 20 years.

cirby 2008-02-01 10:17:58 AM
Kinda makes you wonder if Fisk is more pissed off that the brown-nosing "martyr" biography of Hussein didn't generate any cash for him, or that it didn't say enough nice things about his old pal Saddam...

You don't read Mark Steyn? Strange. I saw you posting a picture of one of his book covers in a thread the other day. It sort of suggested that you'd read that particular book and were referencing it in order to back up your arguments. No matter.

Iron Chef Scottish: You don't read Mark Steyn?

No, I never read anything from him, in fact, but might be interested in picking up his latest book after hearing an interview with him

That book was discussing what me and the other guy were talking about, but I wasn't using it as a way to back my argument, no. I said later that I hadn't read it yet

No matter.
No problems

I'm glad I am up to your standard, mein Vanguard friend.

Tats don't like Fisk? Ha! Another reason to like the man and his work. His even handed approach towards affairs in the middle east run contrary to standard western propaganda and thus he must be discredited at every turn it seems. Except those who try and discredit his work more often than not end up betraying there own deplorable bias.

The guy speaks perfect arabic, has interviewed Osama Bin Laden three times, sees through the obvious lies and propaganda used to try and justify military misadventures in places like Iraq and Palestine. Jeez, Tatty, why would any of that cause you to spit vile and venom in his direction.

Is mystery!

In this particular case? Hardly suprising. The ME is full of lies. Whether this was just an unscrupulous hack writer out to make a quick buck off of Fisk's name or whether it was propaganda licensed by the Egyptian government or by Israeli money in order to try and make Fisk look bad or some other source entirely remains uncertain. he only real certainty is that Fisk continues to make some folks very nervous indeed by speaking truth to power. Good! Those folks need a little fear in their lives.

For a good laugh, go to CAMERA.ORG (The Zionist media intimidation machine) and do a simple search on "FISK". Pick any article, they're all a hoot.

You want to see where Tatsuma is coming from, read CAMERA, the leader in making lies out of truth.

I never read a book by Fisk and now I don't want to. His assessment of Cario is spot on; he doesn't like it for those reasons, I do.

This was goddamn funny. I laughed my way through it.

seems there is no problem, however mundane, that can't be blamed on Israeli's.

Go soak your head. "My beating by refugees is a symbol of the hatred and fury of this filthy war.". Read it. Breathe in the self-loathing solipsism. It's why "to fisk" became a verb - to deconstruct a piece of trash like one peels an onion, one layer at a time, each as insubstantial and noxious as the last.

MT(headed one): Lemme get this straight, because the man has empathy for the plight of the people the west has farked over fer generations I'm supposed to revile Robert Fisks writings?

S'rsly? Give yer head a shake. Try to get the three little metal balls back into all three holes before you try again.

Because he retains his humanity and doesn't devolve into an Us v. Them mentality even when being beaten by these folks he is to be read as insubstantial?

Hey, you know who else was really big on turning the other cheek?

Jesus may not have been the son of God per se but I wouldn't quite call him "insubstantial and noxious".

You must be one of those either/or mindsets I encounter so often on the right. Friend of Tats perhaps? Do tell.
