Just another example of the 35 years of change she has been an agent of. Change for the worst.

Nabb1 [TotalFark] 2008-01-31 10:07:20 AM
Clinton would not agree to be interviewed on the subject but now says she no longer shares Wal-Mart's values and believes unions "have been essential to our nation's success."

Do people really buy this nonsense? They seem to lie so casually and feel absolutely no need to explain themselves to anyone.

Jubeebee 2008-01-31 10:43:19 AM
Her Senate campaign returned a $5,000 contribution from a Wal-Mart Political Action Committee, although ABCNews.com discovered another $20,000 in contributions from Wal-Mart executives and lobbyists.

Clinton spokesperson Howard Wolfson said, "There is no basis to return" the money.

Versus:

"What we've done is we've traced any funds that we know of that we think were connected to him," said Obama during an appearance on "This Week" with George Stephanopoulos. "And if there any other funds that were connected to him that we're not aware of, then we will certainly return them. It is in our interest to do so."

But Hillary has EXPERIENCE!

That's a common typo. She's actually been an agent of orange:

Ah... I see how that could happen. So she is really an agent of the Dutch resistance.

I've never understood this. Of any of the major candidates, she has the least experience as an elected official.

Oh, okay. I agree. It was just sort of ambiguous up there by itself. Didn't know if you meant her or the story.

Wait...now we are angry at her for legitimate legal profits she obtained by being a hardnosed board member of a corporate giant? Gosh, I remember when we used to get upset at her illegal land dealings, associates untimely deaths, illegitimate use and possession of FBI files, and her ability to stick with her philandering husband in order to get ahead without the need to sleep with a man.

This type of Gordon Gecko behavior I can support. Greed is good, Ms. Clinton. Greed is what made you and your husband. Greed is what made America.

The campaigns will be interesting. You're right though, I really don't know shiat about Obama. I do know that Clinton is filthy and I don't want Bill in DC again.

It is hilarious to see the liberal boomer crowd freak out and self destruct over Hillary's sagging numbers. The Boomer liberals, including Jackson/Sharptonites and N.O.W. etc., are apoplectic about the fact that people under 50 don't identify with their old timey causes anymore. In my opinion, most people outside of soccer moms, NPR and colleges are silently moving past race and sex.

It's pretty funny. It also means that even though they have been handed this election on a silver platter, they are showing sure signs of blowing it (again).

You don't understand, you *choke* mean old misogynist. She LIVED in the White House, and WATCHED her husband, whom she loves and trusts, run the country. Which is basically the same thing as being President herself.

And weren't times nice when Clinton was in office? Wouldn't you like to have nice times again? Clinton means good times for everyone. Vote Clinton.

amazing_live_seamonkeys: If the election comes down to McCain and Obama, chances are I wont hate the government for the next four years.

I feel the same way. I think McCain is a senile, warmongering geriatric, but he's intelligent, and he's willing to compromise, so if he has to work with a Democratic Congress, I think he could do a decent job. Obama would be better, but Obama v McCain doesn't fill me with the same sense of impending doom as Clinton v Romney.

Can't we just concentrate on her stifling hypocrisy and her dark, empty soul?

How big is this story?
Huge.

There are two news days left for Hillary to be able to effectively respond to this story before Super Tuesday. Of the 22 Super Tuesday states organized labor plays a major role in the Democratic party of eight of them. One of those eight is California, which is currently too close to call. Another two of these labor states (New Jersey and Massachusetts) have huge blocks of "undecided" voters.

This is video evidence of Hillary sitting idly by as Wal-mart conspires to destroy organized labor in the US. Video evidence is hard to refute to start with, even when it is questionable people are more likely than not to believe it. Before this was revealed, labor has been very supportive of Hillary's campaign. But labor leaders are going to be hard pressed to bring their rank and file into line with this floating around; a lot of labor leaders are libel to defect in mass over the weekend anyhow.

We may see a major shift towards Obama after this, unless Hillary can pull out evidence that Obama filmed "2 Girls 1 Cup" or something equally reprehensible.

I wonder why she doesn't get called on this. Its so strange that Obama's lack of experience is a negative, and Hilary's experience is a positive, even though Obama has more experience than her as an elected official.

"I was just doing my job" or "I was only following orders" are not valid defenses when you were complicit in damaging the very organizations that are now supporting you.

"I'm always proud of Wal-Mart and what we do and the way we do it better than anybody else."

That's about it. Hillary in a nutshell: she supports Wal*Mart no matter what; until, of course, she doesn't work there any more. Then they're evil. Kind of like, I dunno, NAFTA?

And people wonder why he supported NAFTA and free trade with China?

Dancin_In_Anson: Hell....even unions are anti union....

How cute, a conservative sniping at the authenticity of liberals. If you want to weigh beans on that, I wonder how it makes you feel to know that Rush and other bastions of conservatism are backing one of the most phony, liberal-in-drag "conservatives" that the GOP has seen in years.

LocalCynic 2008-01-31 03:14:16 PM
tgregory: if walmart doesn't want to unionize, why the fuss?

A company that shuts down stores, lays off all the workers, opens a store across the street and then doesn't re-hire the union organizers doesn't just not "want to unionize."

She might have been silent with Wal-mart, but it was deadly for Vince Foster.

Weaver95 [TotalFark] 2008-01-31 03:21:42 PM
In six years as a member of the Wal-Mart board of directors, between 1986 and 1992, Hillary Clinton remained silent as the world's largest retailer waged a major campaign against labor unions seeking to represent store workers.

Hey, they paid on time and the checks didn't bounce. And that's all that mattered to Hillary.
