Well, at least the media party sucked as much as the Super Bowl will.

hey man the Gin Blossoms never stopped playing... they're a good band... really nice guys.. they played at My job last summer and were very cool.. they sounded great too.. even with the new guitar player... since when are they in bed with Nirvana and INXS? what they shouldn't tour anymore cause it upsets yer retarded sensibilities about whats acceptable for a band to do.

I wonder what Tonic and Toad the Wet Sprocket are up to*...

*not really

This is the worst news I've heard all month.

Every time I hear the line "...let the cops chase us around..." I want to punch a nun.

Doug Hopkins did right by killing himself.

Is he now? Is he? Hmmmm? Think about it. I think you'll see things differently when you take a moment to consider this is the Gin Blossoms we're talking about.

I saw them over the summer and they are still awesome. Their new record was pretty good too, there is no reason for them to stop anytime time soon

I kinda liked Tonic. I'm guessing they're not together anymore, though, since it's been at least 5 years since their last album, and Emerson Hart put out a solo effort last summer.

I was pleasantly surprised by "Major Lodge Victory" and have been listening to it for the past couple of weeks.

What?

They're from Phoenix so it makes perfect sense, they're a good band-maybe people were more excited @ the '96 Superbowl...

there was a guy i knew who actually said the gin blossoms were his fav band. seriously, i mean it could be worse but what the fark? and this wasn't a long time ago or anything, this was six months ago. it was so completly odd.

Funny I saw Toad the Wet Sprocket at the Melody Tent in Hyannis,Ma a year ago, drove by and saw they were playing and figured why not.

If I hear "If You Can Only See" one more time, I'll farking kill someone. I swear to god.

One of the worst songs ever.

They played free concerts at the local Community Center/City Hall/Park in my city. I didn't attend. I had free time but no interest whatsoever.

Being a musician is a fun life, but sometimes you just need to face facts that you had fluke success once and you need to just hang it up.

Unless you were actually a good band playing good music.

I dated a sorority girl (or two) in the early to mid 1990s, so I'm really getting a kick out of these replies. . . .

thanks for the article---I played in a band in AZ during this time---EVERYONE was jealous of the Gin Blossoms. The article definitely put a face on the guy behind the band.

///that's why the second GB record tanked...no Doug Hopkins songs. (or maybe a couple, I can't remember)

I'm getting a kick out of this headline because I saw the Gin Blossoms live this fall.

/and Tonic back in late 2004.
