Don't musicians PLAY INSTRUMENTS? She's no musician.

Good music or nor, being the diva in the booth does not make you a producer. I doubt she even knows her midrange from her treble knobs on a mixing board.

The voice is an instrument. Vocalists as much musicians as intrumentalists.

Yeah. That Popozao dude earned my musical respect for the way he handles a slider.

Yeah, well how many people have I heard talking about how they didn't "get" 'No Country For Old Men'. There's a reason Will Ferrel movies make money and these ladies sell records.

the act of adjusting the way music is recorded is by definition production. one could receive a production credit for adjusting the midrange, treble, maybe even the bass levels.

it would be stupid to think that after decades being in studios and boning dudes in studios she doesn't perhaps know a thing or two about production.

Funny... folks in the recording industry are still calling them "singers" or "vocalists". Guess they need to be schooled.

And someone who plays a guitar is a "guitarist" and someone who plays a piano is a "pianist". Together all of them are "musicians".

But alright, it may be a bit like the humans/animals thing. Humans are animals but people sometimes use the word "animal" to mean "nonhuman animals"

/What do you call a guy who hangs out with musicians? A drummer.

What the definition of an optimist? An accordion player with a beeper. (Okay, it's 1980's-ish, but still funny)

I don't care if she wrote about necro-bestial anal butt sex. Her music is gooey, simplistic tripe with all the lyrical insights of a high school cheerleader. Throughout the 1980's I winced in horror as all the twits of Earth embraced her tepid mush. Now that all the damage has already been done, she's finally become a subject of mockery.

Too little, too late.

Tatsuma: take a music class.

The woman I think should be the most wealthy, based on importance....Joni Mitchell comes to mind.
