You used to be cool, NME. Now it's just a regurgitation of whatever is in the tabloids gossip pages, and youth-oriented marketing opportunities. Couldn't care less about what your opinion is these days, as I know it will be wrong.

/Bought every issue in the late '80s/ '90s.

Anyone else liked 'Whatever People Say I am' was pretty good, but the new one just kinda lacked? No? You just came to rip on some band, and how your fav band is better? Ok then!

There's probably three songs on their new album that I like.

There still a fun band to have play in the background at a party or something, but holy Jesus scurrying under the cupboard Cockroach that is a bland-sounding album.

Should be the sick tag.

Knowing NME, I'm surprised that they don't have Les Savy Fav under best new artist.

So wo should we blame? Or should we not care all that much?

They got a couple of good dance tracks that can get stuck in your head.

Brianstorm was pretty damn good track.

AM is just like the Strokes were a couple of years ago.
They'll start fading soon enough I think.

Love the Artic Monkeys, good old real music sound. Far better than all this bling (c)rap and 1 second wonder samples.

All this, except I only lived in the UK for seven of those years. The only good rock interviews I've ever read were in NME in the early '90s, though even the the mag was starting to get blinded by Britpop...and that's when the downward slide began.

likewise they were fun to get drunk (or whatever you like to do) and party seeing them live in a small club

not the type of music id sit around and chill out to though

Arctic Monkeys are the manufactured brainchild of Laurence Bell (the head of Domino Records) and Dan Treacy of Television Personalities. It's true.

That and they're bland as shiat.

What the hell, The Arctic Monkeys are still around? I thought they'd gone the way of Gay Dad and The Libertines by now.
